<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">BEMIDJI, Minn. (March 21) - A high school student went on a shooting rampage on an Indian reservation Monday, killing his grandparents at their home and then seven people at his school, grinning and waving as he fired, authorities and witnesses said. The suspect apparently killed himself after exchanging gunfire with police.

It was the nation's worst school shooting since the Columbine massacre in 1999 that killed 13 people.

One student said her classmates pleaded with the gunman to stop shooting.</div>

He had 2 handguns, and a shotgun..how the hell do you get that into a school?

That is so sick, and to think..anybody could snap at that, and I go to a school with 4,000 kids..that is just crazy...

    R.I.P. to the victims

You get **** like that in the States I guess. I don't think anything like that has ever happened in Canada, yet...right? I guess some kids are just messed up in the head, having suicidal thoughts.

    RIP to the victims.

Man, I really don't understand that, nothing like that has happened in Canada, but even then, I just don't understand why some kid would go do that. I mean if you want to kill yourself, don't be selfish and go take other people's lives too, I don't condone of someone taking their own life, but if that's their intention, why makes other's families suffer too?

Seems like his dad committed suicide four years ago, and his mom is in a vegetable state after a car accident. I do feel symapthy for him but what he did was wack. 8 Ball, are a lot of schools in the US equipped with metal detectors and security guards? We don't have that in Canada, at least at most schools.

A fair amount of schools in the states have detectors, in Detroit, a lot of schools have them, but I know here I haven't seen any.

because its the states...and americans hang onto their precious "constitutional right"

if guns werent so accessible, there would be a lot less shootings...its common sense. but because a bunch of racist old schoolers thought it was as important as freedom, americans have guns...and lots of them. several amendmants have been made to your constitution, this is one that needs amending.

it doesnt take a genius to see that less guns means less gun related injuries and murders...and the fact that its in your constitution the way it is, only creates a nation of gun happy people.

and the nra is making millions because of the constitution, and any government that would oppose the "right to bear arms" is obviously going to lose the election or get voted out of office...so they arent going to go against the power of the nra...so its not something that will change. even though it should

I really don't have a problem with people owning guns, but **** like this happens. I hunt, my dad works for the Gov. I have 35+ guns in my house, ammo, and everything.

What I meant by that is, why the hell don't schools in America have metal detectors or something, this happens way to often, there has to be a way to stop/limit it without getting rid of the right to own guns.

That school had metal detectors and even an armed security guard. The kid just blasted his way through...

Security guards at my schools out here (I've been to 2 high schools, seen many more) have pathetic security guards, they don't scare you. They are either old, female (not making fun of females), or overweight. Every once in awhile my school now has a cop on campus, he can kick some serious ass..he is like 6'4 220, dude is a monster.

Ah well, stuff like this happens, I just don't understand why he wants to take other people with him..
