Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been cleared to practice, with no contact, for the first time in almost three months, according to his agent, but there remains no timetable for his return to action after being sidelined by post-concussion symptoms.

"Sidney is continuing to progress well. It's another step in the right direction but I will say this again. There is no timetable for a return at all. It's just another echelon he is going through and part of the recovery," Crosby's agent, Pat Brisson, told ESPN.com Wednesday.

What kind of practice Crosby is cleared for is unclear. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, he is allowed to join teammates for game-day skates, during which there is no contact. But doctors have not cleared him for full practices, which would include contact, the newspaper reported.
