I'm glad that Jeryl Sasser has a chance to make the Charlotte Bobcats. I think he is a good player who can help make this team great. I know that a lot of you out there who have heard of Jeryl Sasser think he is a bust, but I'm a huge fan and watched him throughout his career and I think he could help any team in the NBA right now.

Considering him a bust is just plain wrong. Sasser never got the chance he deserved while in Orlando. He played behind Tracy McGrady, you're expecting a rookie to take McGrady's spot when McGrady is on the of the top 5 players in the NBA. If you noticed when he got a lot of playing time he put up atleast 10 points and 10 rebounds a game off the bench. I'm not saying he's a starter, but he is sixth man material.

This is how I see Sasser helping this team. First off his weakness is his shooting. Not a real good shooter, but I think given some time he can only get better. He can drive to the basket and dish it off or shot from close range. He's a PG who is 6'6 and can rebound the ball very well. How many point guards can rebound the ball really well? His biggest asset is his defense. Sasser can play excellent defense on any 1, 2, 3 in the league if given the chance.

This is team looks like its going to be young, and I think that Sasser could help this team out if given the opportunity to play. You may think that he's not good, but I've watched him for many years so I know what he's capable of doing. Good luck Sasser!

Orlando really screwed up their last couple rookies.
Sasser, Hunter, Gaines, all got no playing minutes, and when they did it was make-some-miracles-or-sit-on-the-bench time...

I'd like to see Sasser get some decent playing time, best of luck to him...

Sasser never panned out in Orlando because of what was said above: he has no jumpshot. None. This guy looked like he couldn't hit the side of a barn when he played for the Magic. When the Magic drafted him, they seemed to think that he would be able to contribute immediately off the bench as either a PG or a SG because he had the athleticism to play both positions, but he didn't do much of anything and he just kinda...disappeared.

I remember this year I was wondering to myself "what happened to Jeryl Sasser?" The point is though, this guy is a big project. Sit him on the end of the bench and give him some minutes toward the end of games to try and develop him. But 6th man material? I doubt it. There are other guys on the Bobcats' roster that will be much better off the bench.

Well, apparently the Bobcats were not too interested in Sasser since they cut him during the Minnesota Summer League.

Ouch. Looks like it might be another year of sitting in the free agent pool for Sasser.

Good point. If he's going to make it anywhere, Charlotte is his best chance.

I think all the players in camp wish they were on the Bobcats roster - those are the guys who have the best chances of making it on a team.

As for Sasser... if he can't make the Bobcat roster, he really is a bust. It was an eyesore watching him play in Orlando. He couldn't bank a shot if the hoop was an ocean.

Seriously you may be glad you have a chance to get him, but you wont be when you see him play. You can ask any magic fan the guy cant shoot a 5 footer without missing badley. He sucked all his years playing for us and never even showed a ounce of potential.

He is basically our version of ryan leaf. Except he never even had potential to be great. You really have to see some video tapes of this guys days with us in the magic orginization. He makes darko look like the mvp. And that is saying alot.
