Mikael Silvestre has joined German club Werder Bremen.

The former Arsenal defender left Emirates Stadium when his contract expired this summer and will now embark on what he describes as a "new adventure" in the Bundesliga.

Silvestre spent two years with the Gunners, making 43 appearances and scoring three goals, including one in a North London derby against Tottenham in 2008.

The 33-year-old could face Spurs again this season - Harry Redknapp's side are in the same Champions League group as Werder Bremen.

One of Wenger's most pointless signings ever. Never quite impressed me, even at United he was shit.
