I thought it was fitting, but not well written, as most of his stuff seems to be these days. I love his work, but he slacks a lot, and uses old material all the time. I'm glad he's on the same page as us, but his opinion has not been any more or less notable than any of ours lately.

    I'm a big simmons fan.

he does recycle stuff a lot though.

It'd be great if he could finally come up with some analogys to movies that aren't "the Godfather," "Karate Kid," "Teen Wolf" and "Swingers."
time for Bill to realize that three of those movies are only famous because of how crappy they are and the other can't help but be overrated because everyone says it's the greatest thing of alllllll time.

and what was the deal with proclaiming GERRY CALLAHAN the "best sports columnist in boston"??????????[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
    YIKES!

Sounds to me like someone has the Sports Gal locked in a closet somewhere.

Bill Simmons sh*ts on most of the "actual" basketball columnists on the web. He's more of a blogger than a journalist and I like it better that way. Also, you could replace Doc with Sam Mitchell in that article and (ignoring all the Celtics references) I could agree completely with everything he said.

God, this bet makes me feel sad about both of our teams.

Anyways, I think Sam Mitchell (and Doc Rivers) should be fired.

You know what, he could have switched Doc Rivers's name with Sam Mitchell in the same article and I could've sworn he's dead on.

Weird how that works with bad coaches. They all seem to be bad for the same reason. Which is, of course, that they don't know how to coach basketball. That is so strange.
