For one half, the Nebraska Danger battled toe to toe with the Indoor Football League’s only remaining undefeated team.

But 30 minutes of good football wasn’t good enough as Sioux Falls rallied for a 78-56 victory over the Danger on Saturday Night at the Heartland Events Center. The Storm outscored Nebraska 49-16 over the game’s final 36 minutes to improve its record to 8-0.

Sioux Falls scored 35 unanswered points in the second and third quarters to turn a 40-29 deficit into a 64-40 lead on quarterback Chris Dixon’s 1-yard TD run with 49 seconds left in the third quarter. The scoring explosion helped the Storm sweep the regular-season series after previously defeating the Danger 80-32 back on March 21 at Sioux Falls, S.D.
