Sixers Finish Preason. Well the Sixers have certainly have not got off to a bad start. With us finishing 6-2 what do you think out strengths are? What do you think the Sixers need to work on?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting That NBA Girl:</div><div class="quote_post">Offensive boards.</div> Amen to that. I have a question. Based on the last preseason game, it looks like Dalembert is somewhat disappointed that he's been ripped from the starting five. He had 6 fouls in 18 minutes...and I think the only other thing he did was pull down 4 boards (comes natural to him). Is this a sign of him being frustrated so much that it affects his game? If so, I'd have to say that the Sixers will have to fix that, also...because Dalembert isn't that bad of a player...

Also JO said himself that the only person guranteed a starter spot all season is Allen Iverson,he said he will be basing the starter on whoever is playing the best.
Sammy is having difficulty picking up the "new" defense. He is not used to fronting the post. It seems odd to be in front of an opponent because you can lose track of where he is and also it opens you up to the lob. He will just have to get used to it if he wishes to be a professional basketball player. Various coaches use different defensive and offensive schemes and he has to adapt or disappear.
Turnovers and as mentioned above?offensive rebounds. The 76ers are averaging I believe 18.5 turnovers according to my calculations. Well as you might know this is not very impressive at all. This is just one of the few places in which we miss Eric Snow. Allen Iverson inability to take care of the ball will be one of the drawbacks to this year ball club. But now that McKie was bumped into the starting lineup, the turnovers might go down a notch because McKie is one that takes care of the ball and makes right decisions and hopefully he can take some of the PG pressure off of Iverson. But then again the preseason is a time for learning and as time progresses the players well get more intact with O?Brien system and things will start running more smoothly. As for the offensive rebounds, those need to be improved as well. I highly doubt we would be in this problem if Dalembert wasn't so slow to learn O'Brien defensive scheme. So when Dalembert finally learns the defense and is supposedly moved into the starting five this won't be much a problem, well at lest I don't think it will be. However, Marc Jackson has picked up O?Brien defensive scheme and is very aggressive on the boards, but he does not have Dalembert length and athleticism. But to sum it up, I see more positives than negatives with this ball club, but the primary thing that the 76ers need to improve on is causing less turnovers. 18.5 turnovers is a LOT!
