<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> <div align="center"></div> The 76ers are excited to start training camp. That was the consistent message throughout the team's annual Media Day, held at the team's practice facility at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. The players taped promos, joked around during photo shoots and met with reporters. They couldn't wait to start playing basketball. "I'm just ready to go," said Sixers star Allen Iverson. "The summer seems so long. I just want to get back to doing what I love to do." Iverson, starting his tenth year in the NBA, was optimistic about the team's personnel and chances for the season. "We look great on paper, but that doesn't mean anything. I feel we have a great opportunity this year to accomplish the things we want to do." A topic that was talked about throughout the day was the ability of Iverson and Chris Webber to play together. Sixers coach Maurice Cheeks was confident that the two perennial All-Stars could lead the team to a successful season. "Camp gives us a little more time for Chris and Allen to mesh," said Cheeks. "It's going to be my job to put Chris in opportunities to succeed. Allen and Chris are both stars and great competitors. They want to win and they're professionals. I look forward to working with them." Webber remarked that he was anxious to begin the new season after a difficult few months for him after the trade from Sacramento. He sees this season as a new chapter in his career. "I feel good and I hope that this year will be different....I want to play at a high level and win a championship." On the prospect of playing with Iverson he said, "I have not one single doubt. I know the person that he is and the person that I am. We both want to win. I think you'll see it will work out. That's where believing in yourself comes into play."</div> Media Day Media Day Audio: Cheeks | Iverson | Webber They do it every year, so you know how it goes.
