"It?s tough because you want to feel like you?re involved," he said. "You just want to feel like a player. You want to feel like you can play this game. If I?m in the crowd and I see somebody who?s not involved and just not doing much, I?m going to think that guy can?t play. If the other team?s not worried about you on the offensive end, I don?t know, it?s just hard for me to function that way."

When players aren?t involved in the offense, the fun part of the game, it can have a negative effect on the defensive end.

"That shouldn?t affect me one way or the other," Salmons said. "I still should have come out with a lot of energy, still should have played great defense on Caron Butler or whoever I was playing, and I probably didn?t. That?s on me. That?s my fault."

But Salmons had a point -- one that several of his teammates have echoed this season. Basketball is a team game and the Sixers too often don?t play like one, at least not consistently.

"That?s it," Kyle Korver said. "That?s really it. We?ve got to play together. We?ve broken this down enough times. We?ve talked about things all season. We?ve just got to play together. When we do that, we all have fun. Today in practice we had fun. We were playing hard. But that?s it."

It?s easy to say the 76ers simply don?t have all the parts they need to be much more than a .500 team. But there have been flashes -- occasionally for a whole game, too often for merely a period or two -- in which they have shared the ball and played like a team. </div>

this is an older article, written on Feb 14, but a good read anyways. salmons talks about how the team doesnt really get involved much on offense, and that takes a negative toll on their defense
