<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Free agent Jay Williams is scheduled to workout for the 76ers on June 19. Williams is a former No. 2 overall pick in the NBA draft and hasn?t played in the league since a motorcycle accident in June of 2003. Williams and Sixers President Billy King are both alumni of Duke University.</div> What do you guys think of this? Would he help us. I think he would. He was a good ball distributor 4 a rookie in 2003.LINK
I think its funny how the Nets, Raptors and Sixers have the same topics regarding Jay Williams..._______(insert team) to Sign Jay williams? You can say it for any team..
Yeah, Jay Williams has worked out for a few teams and I believe he still has a few more workouts to go.As far as we go, if he wants to play here, I would definitely sign him, especially if Billy King decides its time to end the AI era in Philadelphia (I hope not). That would give us a solid young point guard in Jay Williams, and allow Louis Williams to develop behind him. But, I doubt it will happen...
Yea, Jay is working out in Boston Monday as well. He's just exploring all options, working out for any team that wants him to, and he is going to pursue the best situation for himself. I, personally, would love him in Boston.
His name has been popping up everywhere the past couple season, I don't think he's been too impressive because it seems like nobody is willing to take him.

And last year he said himself (this is like 2 weeks before training camp for the 05-06 season) that he is only 85% and is not ready. Plus his quickness fell off a lot, and he slowed down. This is 1 year later, and so far every workout recap I have read has said more good things than the bad. The only think they are knocking him for is that he is not as explosive as he was 3 years ago. But his shooting is above average, he is level-headed, he works damn hard, and he is a pretty good playmaker. Not to mention he is only 24 years old comming off a motorcycle accident. I think he will have a good career.
