Season 1 Results - Fourth place in Gambrinus liga

It was a bit of a struggle at first, but my team managed to come together and make a little run for the title before basically just tiring out. At one point we came back from as low as 12th in the standings to reach 3rd, but fell to 4th by the end of the season.

Season 2 Results - Second place in Gambrinus liga

Once again my team struggled at the beginning, but managed to make it to 2nd in the final standings. We never took over at first through the season, but I figured my team just needed a few new players over the summer to break Sparta Praha's strong hold as champions next season.

Season 3 Results - 1st place in Gambrinus liga

I brought in some top players over the summer including Adrián, Sabri Sarıoğlu and Efstathios Tavlaridis most notably. This helped the team finish at the top of the standings and make a big run in the Champions League. We finished 7 points ahead of 1. FC Brno and Sparta Praha broke down by finishing in a low 6th place! As for our Champions League run, we came up from qualifying into the group stages with no big hassle. However, when we reached the semi-final AC Milan destroyed us 6-2 on aggregate. Still, for a Czech club I thought the results were very nice.

Season 4 Results - 1st place in Gambrinus liga

With our little run we managed to raise the club's credibility by a large margin. This allowed me to bring in new players with no big hassle or huge payoff. I tried to sign Milan Baroš and bring him back to the Czech Republic, but his club wouldn't allow it despite the fact that he was interested and wasn't getting enough playing time there. No big deal though as we crushed the competition with the talent we had in the Gambrinus liga. We finished over 20 points ahead in the standings.

We were not so lucky this time out in the Champions League though. The team was knocked out in the group stage and dropped to the UEFA Cup. We played very well by getting to the semi-finals against Olympiakos and crushing them 3-0 at home. I figured we had a finals appearance all wrapped up, but not by far! Olympiakos came back at home and destroyed us 4-0 to make a huge comeback and ultimately going on to win the UEFA Cup as well.

It was a heartbreaking loss because one of our veteran players, Niko Kovač, planned to retire at the end of the season. He did end up retiring, but he seemed to enjoy his stay so much that he wanted to become an assistant manager to Grégory Rost. I hired him over the summer and also managed to finally sign a 30 year old Milan Baroš for a club record of 8.3 million Euros.

    Season 5 Results - Ongoing

I figured I paid too much for Baroš, but from the very beginning he's been better then we all know him to be in real life. Half way through the season he has 15 goals in all competitions. We were knocked out again in the group stages of the Champions League, but I think the team has enough talent to win the UEFA Cup, which is a realistic goal for a Czech club to be honest. However, I forgot to mention that over the summer I also managed to sign Nemanja Vidić after he left Man United.

I also signed veteran Czech player David Jarolím from HSV and a new number one keeper Jan Laštůvka from Bochum. He ended up becoming nearly as good as Cech at age 28, now 30 at the time I signed him and pulled in interest from big clubs like Liverpool, who recently lost Reina's services to Lazio and Arsenal, who were still struggling to find major success with Łukasz Fabiański as their number one between the pipes. I was surprised he chose Slavia Praha over the other two, but I'm happy because our previous number one, Júlio César Jacobi, has been really inconsistent. He's had moments of pure genius and then the next match he'll allow 4 goals. It doesn't happen often, but when it does the matches he screws up are usually important ones. A great example being against Olympiakos. We had the UEFA Cup in our sights!

In any case it has been a blast so far. I'm glad I ended up choosing a club from a smaller league because of the challenge it gave me. I'm very close to bringing this club to super club status to be honest. I think within two years or so we can win the Champions League. Giuly and Šmicer are retiring at the end of this season and I hope to make them a part of the club's staff somehow like I did with Niko Kovač (assistant manager) as well as former keeper Martin Vaniak (goalkeeper coach).

    Thanks.

I'm actually a little over half way through the season already. I was half way through when I wrote everything earlier. New update is that I crushed Newcastle United and Standard Liège in the UEFA Cup getting to the quarter-finals. Villarreal posed a threat, but my team managed to get through them. Roma defeated us at Stadio Olimpico 2-1, but we destroyed them 5-0 at home to get through to the final! Finally we've broken through to a final!

The UEFA Cup final is a few weeks away and we've pretty much got the domestic league all wrapped up sitting in first and well ahead of anyone else. I'm pretty sad actually to think that I'll be losing Vladimír Šmicer and Ludovic Giuly in a few months, but I think I'll be able to sign Tomáš Rosický in the upcoming summer transfer window. That should give me the firepower I need to make up for what I'll be losing, but it won't replace my excellent captain.

More player news is that Hasan Salihamidžić will be retiring next year, but I'm not worried about him because unlike the other two who will be retiring at the end of this season, Hasan has been past his prime for a while now. He'd be lucky if I don't transfer him out over the summer, to be honest. Sabri already makes a great replacement as captain though.

I'm thinking of signing a bunch of new youth talent over the summer for the future.

Results at the end of season 5 - I won the UEFA Cup against Liverpool FC, 2-1 the final. I also won the Gambrinus liga again and in the most dominant fashion so far. My record is as follows - 80 points in 30 matches with 25 wins and 5 draws, no losses! My record at home was 11 wins and 4 draws. Away record was 14 wins and 1 draw. That was a crazy season and I just signed a 20 year old Czech prospect from a small club in the lower leagues. The guy is fantastic. I'm still trying to pry Tom?š Rosick? away from Arsenal.

No! Not Rosicky. He's fine where he is, trust me! [IMG]
