Skiles: "We Are Not There Yet"

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">'Of course,'' the Bulls took a big step in their development this season.

So said coach Scott Skiles after the team bowed out of the postseason with a 95-85 loss Thursday to the Detroit Pistons in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

''I can be as impatient as anybody else,'' Skiles said. ''I do realize we went from a bottom-five team to a top-eight team in two years. That is not easy to do. We did it with young players, and they deserve a lot of credit.

''It was more than acceptable, but we wanted to take the next step. There is still an overall great professional mind-set that we are looking for, and we are not there yet.''

The Bulls gather today for final individual meetings with Skiles, his staff and general manager John Paxson. The Bulls' brass then will begin its offseason evaluations.

''I think they're going to keep everybody together,'' center Ben Wallace said. ''I hope so. This team showed a lot of character. Losing sucks, but these guys came to work every night and every day. These guys brought it. I'm proud of the way they played.

''You can look at this season, you can look at this game and break it down in all kinds of different ways. I'm not going to beat myself over the head about it. I'm going to let John and Scott do their job and let them beat themselves over the head about where we need help.''</div>

Other than needing a post-player, Norm Van Lier said we need a true point guard. He said we should move Hinrich 2 shooting guard since he isnt a pure point guard and move Ben to the bench. What do yall think?

How is Kirk Hinrich not a pure point guard?
