That's great news, Lanny!! BTW, have you ever had gout? I had that a couple of weeks ago. VERY painful big toe! They used to call it rich man's disease. Probably because many of the good foods in life - steaks, seafood, IPA's - are contributing factors. We were in Florida and ate out a lot.
Your next check up (blood work) you might want to ask your doctor to check your uric acid levels. Because if you’re starting to have gout attacks, it’s very likely they will recur unless you want to make some serious lifestyle changes. If your uric acid levels are elevated, the doc can start you out on allopurinol on a daily basis. It’s cheap, has no side effects that I’ve noticed, and has made a huge difference as far as attacks go. I haven’t had a gout attack in the almost ten years I’ve been on it. But since you had an attack, I would take it very seriously because the chances of it happening again are high. I went through it for years because I was a stubborn SOB. Take the time to find out if allopurinal might be a good thing for you. I don’t wish gout on anyone, not even Republicans (or at least not the majority of them).
They told me not to worry about it. As men age their hair moves from on top of their head to places like the nose and ears. It's a zero sum game. I used tweezers to remove hair from my ears and the sores developed shortly after. Then it got aggravated by wearing ear muffs when I try to sleep during maybe half of dialysis and they rub my ears. And I use a CPAP which lies on my right night stand close to where I sleep resulting in resting my right ear on my pillow all night. it's probably just a combination of the tweezing my ears and then aggravating my ear with ear muffs and rubbing my pillow (no, not that My Pillow) with my ear.
Yes, I've had gout that had to be removed by needle. I now take a medication every day for prevention, allopurinol. Also have had plantar fasciitis in both feet.
