<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Developing rookies for the future is important, and the Jazz believe Deron Williams will eventually take over the point guard position for several seasons. But the day-to-day priority is winning games and trying to make the playoffs, using whatever weapons work best.
And that, Jazz coach Jerry Sloan has decided, means Milt Palacio will be his first point-guard option behind starter Keith McLeod, at least temporarily.
Sloan made his thinking clear Monday night, when Palacio and McLeod combined to play all 48 minutes against New Jersey, relegating Williams, the third pick in last June's NBA draft, to 11 minutes, all at the shooting guard position.
The coach defended the decision after the Jazz's victory, asserting that Palacio gives the Jazz a better chance of winning now - and that's his primary goal.
"I've got to go with a little bit more experience in those situations," Sloan said of Palacio's 12-minute stint in the fourth quarter. "He has more toughness at this stage. He can try to get on top of the basket. He'll take [opposing point guards] on and challenge them." </div>

Because he knows nobody can stop his Miltness.
