http://www2.sltrib.com/jazz/Main/Story.asp...2003&NUM=118572 The Jazz have hit a wall, coach Jerry Sloan believes, and he hinted Tuesday that, depending upon how his players respond to their first ugly blowout of the season, lineup changes could be in order soon. "I would assume right now that we will" stay with the same general rotation that Sloan has used the past two weeks, the coach said of tonight's game with the Knicks (7 p.m., FSN). "But I don't know just yet." I know that loss against the Celtics was a bad one, but the Jazz have been playing well and I wouldn't say this kind of thing over one loss. Guess there's no impressing Sloan, but he's right in that they can't be selfish, this team wins as a team and does a pretty good job of it so far.
Let's not be fooled. Sloan is not disappointed, this is a psychological media game. He's overjoyed with their performance, but he's trying to get them to play even better.
^ I agree. I mean, wtf is there to be disappointed about? This current team is over-achieving. I'm sure he's very very happy.
I believe Sloan will be impressed, but not completely impressed. At the start of the season he was saying he wouldn't lower his expectations and change his style, and it's working.
Sloan has always done this, 5, 10 and almost 15 years ago. He just likes to rile his players up. Often he doesn't even name players, so every starter is like "Is it me?" And he intends it that way. Looks tonight like AK47, Harp and Arroyo all felt the whip, and they produced like they were fighting for their jobs. Good work Jerry.
