Today Mike Barrett was hosting Wheels @ Work....he said he has heard from some people that Oden will be cleared to play 5 on 5 very soon....he said he has heard from others that Greg has already been cleared. Either way, he said he is only hearing positive news.

Yeah. Noah's ceiling plus much, much more impact defense is an acceptable floor for Oden. [IMG]

Ya, but Greg would do it against a double team.

I would like to know where his weight is at. That is his most important stat for this season.

I disagree. I think rebounds and blocks are easily more important.

I think championships won by Portland are more important.

I think Noah's only been like a 10/11/1.5 guy in his best year. But to answer the question, hell yes. I'd take Noah's box score stats to go with Oden's defensive stats any day. That's basically better than Noah's, Marc Gasol and Bogut's box score stats, with the dominating paint defense that you get with Oden outside of the box score? That's a 60 win season if that happens for 70+ games.

The thing that is amazing about Greg, is how he affects the other teams offensive flow. In the first month of last season, I would see at least 5 or 6 times a game that a player would look as if they were about to attack the rim as Greg was sliding over from the weak side, and would totally have to stop dead in their tracks and put up either a horrible shot or kick it back out and got nothing. That didn't count as any stat, but it was as important as a steal or block! Those are the small things you can't see in the box score! Very similar to what Nic does. I tell you what, you put Greg out there with Camby and Nic and I don't think the other team would EVER score!

So minus the Barrett homerism, Greg should be ready by the all star break

All due respect to Mike Barrett (who I'm sure you're tight with, and I actually like) but he's one of the worst offenders I've ever seen when it comes to shameless and premature sunshine pumping.

How about if Greg plays a little 5 on 5 in the next couple of weeks you guys agree to shut the fuck up about MB? And if he doesn't ....then you all can roast him. So the guy is a homer. Big deal. We can use one in this town in the media.

I think you guys go a bit over board about him. Personally I think he knows more about the NBA then most people. I enjoy listening to his opinion. And that is not easy for me to say since he is a Beaver.

He is my dawg, but he does work for the team. Everybody is biased one way or the other right?
