I wanted to get the opinion of some Laker fans here, Do you think Smush Parker should be traded?Do you mind trading for a different point guard and bringing Parker off the bench? I dont think he has the talent to be a starter in this league.
Smush is probally the worst starting pg in the leagueand I wouldnt be surprised if Jordan Farmar takes his job before the all star breakthat said.... I think Smush could be great off the bench at the pg and sg spot depending on matchups
No need in trading him really. He provides some scoring to the team, so I dont think he needs to be shipped off. He's a good shooter, and he is explosive, but he has little to no passing ability, and he shouldnt be a starter on any team in the NBA.
Parker on the bench would be a much better idea... but I don't know who/what we would trade for for a decent true pg.
Trading him may be a bit durastic, but if we can see how well Jordan Farmar does maybe he'll come off the bench for him.
I say trade Smush, at first I was optimistic and wanted him to stay but I have just grown tired of his horrible defense and his bad shot selection. I would rather have Farmar start over Smush or even Sasha. If we can trade him and get something decent in return then deal away. I mean it's not just his defense and bad shot selection but it just seems like he is not on the same page as the rest of the team. If you watched the two games so far this season the expression on his face just looks lost and the rest of the team rarely passes him the ball. I saw him wide open for a 3 pointer at least three times and he didn't get the ball. I don't think that the Lakers don't like him because I think he gets along with everyone relatively well but I think everyone just lost trust in his ability in the playoffs. Now with a talented rookie in Farmar who can contribute right away, Sasha Vujacic running the point, and even Shammond Williams coming off the bench, Smush is a just the odd man out. So yes, I say trade him.

jordan farmar is going to suprise a lot of teams when he comes in and proves he was just the missing poin tto the lakers equation. smush was great last year cause we had no one and he was a great uprise but now that we ahve a point guard who does EVERYTHING better than smush, I really wanna let jordan improve and let him become the future of the lakers along with baby bynum, odom, and ronny!
I like Smush but IMO he is more of an undersized 2 gaurd. He gave us 11 points lastseason he went from D League to starting NBA = llast year was hist first "NBA" season. So he needs some more time he is getting used to playing the superior gaurds in the league so maybe a couple time.

wtf smush parker is a good solid nba pg. He can give you scroing he can give u great d. The only thing with him is that he need to be able to put in a full game effort every night out. I dont thnik they should trade him and I really think that he can be a good player in this league.

I bet Smush Parker, Adam Morrison, Jalen Rose, Carmelo Anthony, and Eddy Curry would form one GREAT defensive team.Who would want to face that amazing defense... Not me :cry2:

Sure, he gets a lot of steals for the team but that is because he played risky D. Some steals will come out of that but his ability to lock down his man is not very high.
