<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Eric Snow admits he doesn't know all of the particulars that led to Allen Iverson's Dec. 19 trade to the Nuggets.

But Snow, who started in the backcourt alongside Iverson for six full seasons with the 76ers (1998-2004), would've much rather if Iverson's 10 1/2-year tenure in Philadelphia hadn't ended in such an ugly fashion.

?I was disappointed that it happened that way,? said Snow, prior to yesterday's Cavaliers-Sixers game at Quicken Loans Arena. ?I think from Allen's standpoint, being a close friend, and the organization that did all the right things when it traded me, I would have wished it went a little bit smoother.?

The Sixers deactivated Iverson for his final five games after Iverson bad-mouthed coach Maurice Cheeks for running an unimaginative offense and repeated how he wasn't having fun playing basketball anymore.

Snow, a 12th-year pro, was dealt to the Cavaliers for Kevin Ollie and Kedrick Brown on July 20, 2004. Snow is Cleveland's starting point guard.

?I never would have envisioned it would have come to that,? Snow said. ?All I know is the Allen Iverson I know, even if he was on the trading block, he would have still been playing hard and he would have still been playing the way he's capable of playing. That's the Allen Iverson I know. But I don't know everything that went on.

?I never thought Allen would be in a different uniform. At the same time, a lot of time has gone by ? it's his 11th season. Unfortunately, people don't stay in the same place for their whole careers.?

The one benefit of Iverson going to the Nuggets was that Snow didn't have to guard him yesterday.

?I won't miss that,? said Snow, smiling.

Cleveland's Larry Hughes, who was a teammate of Iverson's in Philly from 1998-2000, said Iverson leaving the Sixers didn't surprise him.

?Something happening (with Iverson) had been talked about for the last four or five years,? said Hughes, a ninth-year guard. ?Everybody needs changes. In this league, we all move around in a little circle.?

Eric Snow used to be my second favorite Sixer (second to of course, Allen Iverson). It's nice to hear him speak out on this topic. Maybe we can hear from guys like Aaron McKie, and Derrick Coleman

Many of the former 76ers have remained very close with the organization since being traded, most notable Mckie and Snow, who still come to Philadelphia often and enjoy the city. Every time I think about that trade we did a few years ago (Snow for Ollie) I shake my head, one of the worst trades in our franchises history (not involving a superstar). Snow was the perfect point guard for this team, the way he played the game complimented AI well...
