The news that the Jazz are making a trade involving guards Bobby Jackson and Bonzi Wells is certainly intriguing, except for the part about Jackson and Wells not coming here.
Having paid limited attention to Greg Ostertag's season in Sacramento, I can gather only that he either shrunk into a shooting guard or improved a lot, considering the Jazz are trading three former first-round draft choices (to Memphis) to bring him back.
Then again, considering the medical histories and other deficiencies of those players, maybe he's still Greg
Ostertag - although I must say, he's the smoothest 7-foot-2 golfer I've ever watched swing.
Beyond all the buzz surrounding Ostertag's return, Friday's biggest development involves how quickly the Jazz gave up on Kirk Snyder. The theory that Raja Bell's departure to Phoenix via free agency would allow Snyder to develop into a contributing player in Utah had merit for less than the full Rocky Mountain Revue.
Jazz senior vice president Kevin O'Connor may have thought of this by now, but he had better come up with a backcourt solution. While maneuvering into position to draft point guard Deron Williams last month was shrewd, O'Connor faces more pressure to salvage the summer by somehow landing a couple of worthy guards - or a combination player.
    Good luck with that.</div>
