You've lost it. Dame's in a slump, so now he's worth less than CJ?!? Come on man! Hold it together, Dame will see himself out of this. Talk about a fair weather fan.
This post should be put on a billboard in downtown Portland and the posters name and address should be added so everyone knows exactly who posted this! Is there any poster on this board that is quite this pathetic with the exception of Aldo?
Think of Eric as the voice of your id. He says the wild thoughts that you try to repress. Everybody has them, he's just more honest about it. He's like a Lucky Strike: no filter.
Of course they do. Who wouldn't? He's in a slump, trying to figure out playing without the ball in his hands. Billups might have to go back to just letting him control the ball.
I've said for quite a while, Dame is better than CJ but CJ might be the easier player to build around. CJ can play the lead or secondary role, although to be fair, he plays like a ball-dominant lead in that secondary role. Dame's apparent inability to adjust is why we've been so predictable against trapping teams. He has very few weaknesses, but that one is a killer. We'll see how long-term this adjustment period is for Dame. I hope I'm wrong and Dame's fit under Billups doesn't become a point of concern.
I think the fact that dame can now be easily guarded by the other teams SF, instead of the other teams PG, has as much to do with his struggles as anything. With 3 short players starting, and a PF that is barely 6'7", they've given the opponents an advantage defensively.
Yep, I cringed when we ran the four(!!) guard lineup last night. Nurk was god awful, but at least have Nas and Nance both in.
So we just figure this is expected so you accept it? So it would be funny if it wasn't so consistent?
We had one of the most statistically effective offenses last year after acquiring Powell, with that same lineup. Dame wasn't struggling with it then. Also, putting taller players on Dame is nothing new.
Dame needs better players next to him. Players who are harder to scheme against. You can't expect to beat teams with 3 or 4 all star level players with just Dame and CJ.
That's been the defense for Dame's struggles all along ... place the blame elsewhere. This year is exposing that excuse for what it is. B.S. By your reasoning, he should have been spectacular in the Olympics...
He wasn't bad in the Olympics until his injury. This year he still doesn't have better players than CJ. And nobody else is close. But he's running an offense that is trying to use those other players more. All I claimed was that Dame is an All Star caliber player who needs another all star or two next to him of we want to compete. If you don't think so that's fine.
