It was fun. It’s not just info about inductees. Their names are in a room on a plaque. Lots of non-HOFer stuff including a clip of Dame rapping and of CJ talking about the league. Things I learned:

    1) Amare Stoudemire had small feet compared to others.

    2) Britney Griner has GIANT feet.

    3) Britney Griner has a longer wingspan than Giannis.

    4) In the early days of the game, there was a lot more ball movement and it was fun to watch.

    5) I can bank in a shot from the NBA 3 point line.

I highly recommend checking it out. They showed Kobe’s Oscar winning movie too. There’s a whole wing dedicated to him of course. Would’ve been nice to have that for Jordan too.

I watched my 6th grade daughter swish 2 NBA threes in a game at the Rose Garden. I think I have that on video somewhere...

    It's a long way...

Seriously, a whole wing for Kobe? That's like having a whole wing in the Billionaire's hall of fame (they don't publicize it, but there's got to be one) devoted to the guys who died in that Titanic sub.

I was there about a decade ago, before the Kobe and Griner stuff you mentioned, but its was great. For the basketball buff, it's Mecca. Super interesting.

*Edit* Here they are... the second one from a couple angles.

Also, I think I was wrong and this was 7th grade. And "swish" was probably my selective memory kicking in... maybe not swishes, but pretty close.

It’s not gigantic but it’s more than for other players. Doesn’t mention him being dead

Back in '19 I visited the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in New Castle Indiana. It has to be one step below the Naismith HOF just for the simple reason so many of the greatest bball players and coaches (Oscar Robertson, Larry Bird, John Wooden, even the Milan Indians of "Hoosiers" fame) of all time came out of Indiana. It is a surprisingly well kept secret, but then, New Castle is pretty much the middle of nowhere. But it is well worth the price of admission ($5 in 2019) and is an absolute must for a basketball fan if they happen to be in the area.

I hit nothing but net on my one and only NBA three point attempt.

It was the outside of the net, but still...

Word to the wise ... do not go to the basketball hall of fame AFTER visiting Cooperstown and the baseball hall. The baseball hall makes the basketball one look horrible in comparison. I was not impressed with the basketball hall at all, maybe they've completely redone it in the last 15 years but the best part was the big court at the bottom of the dome that had baskets surrounding it. Me and the two friends I was with started on the old school peach basket and worked our way through the years and versions of the hoops playing the game 21 (but only going to seven). That was cool, some of the exhibits were alright but the hall itself was a big let down.

Was that when the HOF was located at Springfield College? It’s moved since then.
