I was looking up stats or whatever, and I found on CBS.com stats for Feb. and March...which is generally after the allstar break. I can only get the PPG, so if anybody else can find the RPG, SPG,BPG etc...thatll be great.Rudy Gay:February-15ppgMarch-14.2ppgAndrea Bargnani:February-14.3ppgMarch-14.4ppgBrandon Roy:February-17.2ppgMarch-18.4ppgThese "post allstar break" stats are pretty damn nice. Not to mention rookies like Rondo, Millsap, Marcus Williams etc. who have been playing very well too(they affect games without scoring, thats why it would be nice to have those other stats). Like I said at the beginning of the season, this is a "potential" draft...nearly all the lotto picks IMO need time to develop and Rudy and Bargnani are early examples. Brandon Roy was good from the get-go. Thoughts? And looking back now, what do yall think this class will turn out to be like?
It's a pretty weak class. Bargnani, Roy, Foye, Rondo, Gay and Williams show a lot but there is no superstar in this class....lots of #2 scoring options in this class. Ronnie Brewer will show up next season.
Right now, but look at their teammates...Bosh, Gasol, Randolph, Vince Carter...etc...of course they arent going to be "stars" right away. But IMO, in two or three years, Foye, Rudy, Roy and Bargnani will all be allstars.

I don't know about this draft class to be honest. I agree there are some players who need to be in a better situation. But overall the draft had some players who in other drafts might have been taken later or fallen into the 2nd round. In particular, the guy Mavs picked in Maurice Ager. I feel in a past draft, he's a 2nd rounder. And not saying 2nd rounder is a bad thing as you can have steals but 2nd rounders at best fight for roster spots and don't become much than a role player.
Yeah I agree with you Rok, but people are comparing this to the 2000 draft...which was absolutley horrible. I think there will be a few stars from this draft. And people forget that this was a "take what you need" draft, other wise Rudy, Foye and Roy wouldnt have gone lower than Sheldon Williams. Alotve players from this draft are hustle players too, Alexander Johnson, Millsap, Lowry, Rondo...
Weak draft IMO, sure there are going to be a few standout guys like Roy but overall it hasn't lived up the the draft classes of year before. It hasn't lived up to all the other drafts in the past years. The 2003-2005 had loads of young talent and 2007 will add more but 2006 just brought a very small handful of players who one day could be all-star caliber players.

He's very versatile, he's a pretty good defender, he can handle 3 positions on both ends, and he is clearly a great athlete. He has a funky looking jumper, but I think he'll improve his mechanics. Hell, he'll have to if he wants to play for Jerry Sloan. But I think he's going to be a very solid player in this league. But BCB pretty much cleared it up about the draft class in general. Yeah, there are some good #2 or #3 options, and yes there are a lot of pretty good role players (some now, some will take a couple years), but no real stars. A couple players might sneak in there for an All-Star appearance or two, but I'm not so sure. Also, you really needed to mention LaMarcus Aldridge when you were listing some players who have shown a lot of promise, he has been outstanding lately. Just had to say that.

But I dont think any of these players will ever be the all star of the team, as the next 2 draft years are a lot stronger then the 2006. I just think that players from the 2006 will be good role players. Most of them will either be 2nd or 3rd options later on in the future.
lamarcus aldridge will be an all star, especially considering the muscle hes gonna build in this offseason.bargs will be an all starb roy will be an all star. Hes gonna be the new triple-double guy like Jason Kidd.yeah I think this draft has a lot of solid players, but no real superstars that I can see.
first off, of course it's a shallow/weak draft.all those HS who have been flooding in had to go to college for a year this time.there goes Durant, Oden and a few others I'm sure.there are still 3-4 all-star level players in this draft.Bargnani at the very worst will be a pau gasol type and if he has the drive to improve could be a dirk type. He has shown flashes of that much skill in his first year.Roy is solid and should just become more consistent and help the blazers turn around their franchise and make the all-star team.Lamarcus Aldridge has really come on at the end of the year and if he can consistently produce those numbers, will be an all-star.not every year produces superstars. and sometimes it takes 3-4 years for some players to take off. Dirk wasn't a surefire bet being drafted 9th overall and traded that night to the Mavs.like I've read before, you can't judge a draft until 3 years have passed.
Its not too bad, we have a few potential all stars, but not eye ball popping one. We do have a collections of solid role players, which is normal in drafts. after the 2003 draft (one of the best ever) 2004 didnt follow suit. The 2004 draft feautured tons of solid role players in Dwight Howard, Ben Gordon, Emeka Okafor, and Luol Deng. They soon began to develop into franchise/leading role players/first scoring options. It just takes time for them to ferment.
Im not saying its deep or anything, but I do think there will be a couple 1st options to come outve it. They may not literally be "1st options", but a couple are very capable of being it.
