Foster, Batum, Wallace, Aldridge, Camby (hopefully Oden someday).

Gotta tell you this still look pretty damn good.

Foster? I assume you meant Felton. Anyway, I don't see Batum starting at the 2G spot. More likely is that he gets 6th man duties and splits time between the 2 & 3 spots. Wallace will split time between the 3 & 4 spots. LA will probably split time between the 4 & 5 until (if) Oden is able to play. I think the Blazers top 6 players are pretty decent. It's the bench that worries me.

Jeff Foster would be a nice big man pickup, but I'm not so sure about starting him with both Camby and Aldridge at the same time. Triple towers? Yes. But Batum and Wallace split PG duties while LMA guards SF's?

Yes, and especially if there is an injury or two. Then we have zero bench players and possibly a scrub starting.

Felton, Batum, Wallace, LA, Camby is a nice starting lineup. Wes is a great 6th man, or switch his role with Batum.

Elliot, Armon, or Smith as backup PG could be disasterous. Oden isn't close to playing, its time to build the team without him; hey if he actually contributes something great, thats gravy but we can't plan on him being in any sort of lineup. Chris Johnson and Luke Babbit are our other bench players? Hopefully we get some nice free agent signings or our backup unit is going to get very ugly very fast during a compressed lockout season with back to back to backs. I don't want to see Nate trying to ride our starters into the ground for 40 minutes every game.

That still looks like the best option to me. Wes and Batum off the bench, Wallace backing up the 4. LMA backing up the 5.

For a 9 man rotation you need a Back up PG and big man. Smith and Johnson? This is what scares me most.

Further down the bench you have Babbitt,Williams and Armon.....10, 11 , 12 (not concerned here)

Oden woulkd be nice to have.

I think it's a horrible option, but that's what it will be. Roy shouldn't be anywhere near the starting line up, IMO

Agreed. He certainly shouldn't be starting, but the problem is that we don't have a decent alternative option for him. The backup 2 should be instant offense (according to Platypus basketball philosophy), and I don't see Roy filling that role either. :sigh:

Maybe he can play some three and hang out in the corner. That'd save his knees.

    haha. Awesome.

I think Batum could easily play there, and either he or Matthews could provide offensive punch off the bench.

I realize it is a big if........but I think if he is on the team, then he is better off starting. I think he can be a very good compliment to LMA and Wallace. Bring in Wes and Batum for their energy. They will still get their minutes, maybe more. But If you put him in with the second unit then he will dominate the ball. But if he starts then he won't. And the first unit needs his passing and jump shooting. I want Brandon as the third option on offense. The fact that he is paid the most is moot. The players don't care so why should the fans.

Bulls' dream (sources say) & Heat's nightmare is for Chi to get Brandon Roy after Blazers cut him w/amnesty clause....

Chris Broussard on twitter just now. I guess Roy being cut is the worst kept secret in the NBA?

Good. The more they print those stories, the less chance of Paul letting him go. IMHO.

wonder how much they would bid for him in that new waiver amnest bidding system? With other teams interested also maybe Roy gets a 4-5 mil per yr offer, saves PA 1r-20 mil off the rest of Roy's salary and possibly is another incentive for doing the amnesty now. If next yr is like last or even worse for Roy then an offer the following yr would be much lower.. After that Dallas playoff game this may be as high as his value gets?

disagree, if PA thinks he can knock 15-20 mil off what he has to pay Roy that is just MORE incentive to move him NOW IMO

By the way Roy going to CHI via amnesty/waiver is very unlikely as CHI is over cap and Roy would have to clear waivers first, that seems VERY unlikely
