I've been thinking about it lately and I was wondering where do you guys think Kobe ranks all time? H'es the best player in the world right now and is the best scorer and one of the best defensive players of his era. He has three rings and should have an MVP award by now. The amazing thing is he still fairly young and will be in his prime for a while. As of right now I would say he is easily top 20 of all time and probably top 15. By the time his career is over do you see him becoming a top 10?

Top 10. This guy is so unbelievably rare a talent, not to mention his heart and killer instinct give him another edge over any player in this millennium. He is the best scorer since MJ, most clutch player since MJ/Reggie, has won 3 championships and tons of playoff accomplishments, great playmaker, good rebounder, and is the only superstar swingman in the league with the ability to lock you down on defense. And just to think, with all that he has done in his career....3 rings, 81pt game, 62 through 3 quarters, 35PPG in a season, months of 40PPG or more, 9 game streak of 40pts or more, I believe 2nd on list of most game winners (don't quote me on that), all defensive first teams......he is only 28 years old. At that same age MJ won his 2nd championship. Kobe still has lots of room to improve even more and to further his accomplishments and legacy.

He's still got so much time left, I'm going to say somewhere in the top 15. He has to start winning without Shaq for his legacy.

If he can win one championship with him being the leader and the talent around him I think that will impress a lot of people around the league.

I don't know, I think the problem is that there are multiple players who could sneak into the discussion by the time Kobe's career is over, and it'll be a very different discussion by then

Top 10? If he can take his team to a championship I'll say no doubt. But without and still haveing solid years, I'm thinking top 15 is safe.

I don't see him winning anymore but there'll be some good teams over there. I expect him to finish off in the low top 10. 8-10...

I think that I would put him in my top 15 if he didnt get another ring. There arent many players who have won rings without another really good player on his team. Tim Duncan won one in 2003 and 1999 with marginal teams, but there havent been THAT many. These are players that I would put in the top ten. (In no order)Michael JordanTim DuncanHakeem OlojuwanKarl Malone Larry BirdMagic JohnsonKareem Abdul JabarWilt ChamberlainShaquille O'NealBill RussellThere are going to be others better than him as well, and I know that I probably forgot some. Oscar Robertson should probably be in there as well. There have just been so many good players over the last 5 decades. Its just hard to put him very high. John Stockton and David Robinson could be up there as well....

He's already the second best 2-guard of all-time. He'll stay at that, and finish around 12th in terms of best players.Anyone think he can score more than Karl Malone? That is a long-shot, but it is possible.

It all depends though.

I think Kobe will finish in the Top 10 all-time when he is finished. He has some records, and I think he will even get more. Maybe he could win a championship or two before he retires.

he'll definitely be right up there in the top 20 if he retired today. he's only 29 and has a lot more ahead for himself. I thnik he'll be able 2 get at least 1 more championship and would finish his career in the top 10

He is so great at scoring and creating his own shot that his offense overshadows his defense. He is a top five perimeter defender in the league right now.

Unliek many of you, I do not see Kobe as a top 10 talent. Whiel he is one of the best talenst of all times, and already a top 50 player I do not see him above many of the alltime greats. While he is oen of the most physically gifted athletes the game has seen he lacks teh understanding that greats such as Jerry West and Larry Bird had, who were not the most athletic gusy but yet where still able to get the job done. When Koeb retires I see him as a top 15-20 player of all time.1. MJ2. Wilt3. Magic4. Bird5. Malone6. Russell7. Robertson8. Kareem9. Olojuwan10. Shaq11. Jerry West12. West Unseld13. Allen Iverson14. Tim Duncan15. Bob COusey16. Elgion Baylor17. Pistol Pete18. tmac, lol jk. Kobe
