Just be glad you aren't an Irish soccer fan. Their nation will miss out on the World Cup because of a horrible non-call on a handball near the goal in extra time that resulted in a France winning goal. I can't imagine that feeling. I suppose it would be similar to a missed goaltending call resulting in the Blazers not being able to make the playoffs for four years (the amount of time between world cups). Ugh. Wow.
A Player of his caliber and prestige should not resort to playing the ball with his hand in that blatant of a sequence regardless of the refs fault Disgusting
It did happen to us one year. It was when Damon was with the team and the refs made an intentional call that kept us out of the playoffs. In all my 40 years of watching NBA ball, it was the single most intentional call against a team I have ever seen. The ref made a "decision" that we were not gfoing to the playoffs and that was that.
Yeah, against the Nuggets. I remember that. But at least we had the opportunity to get back there the next year. Ireland can't play in a World Cup until 2014.
The Line judge, was directly in view of the player and the offsides that was commited....its his responsibility to raise that flag
Rumors are that FIFA might replay this game. Henry loses a lot of respect for intentionally doing this. First Zidane, and now Henry. Great footballers who now have a a large blemish in their otherwise outstanding resumes.
Wow, that was so blatant. It couldn't possibly be an accident, he clearly knocked it down to be able to kick it. Of course, going by NBA officiating "logic," Henry "earned" that non-call by being a great veteran for so many years. You gotta pay your dues. He's earned a little leeway. Etc etc.
At the very least it should have been a red card, but would Ireland get a PK out of it? I ask because most intentional handballs seem to be by the defense in the box.
No lol, no PK, and by the way, that would be a yellow card not a red...they wouldnt give a red for that
PapaG, would you be kind enough to prominently post a "CAUTION: LANGUAGE" the next time you post something where someone is speaking french?
