If you are ever in Memphis and you want to see their training, it usually takes place at Rhodes College.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Summertime may be considered as an ?off-season? for the NBA, but the Memphis Grizzlies will be hard at work preparing for the upcoming 2003-04 season at a camp with rookies and free agents in Memphis and then a Summer Pro-Am league in California.

The Grizzlies will host a summer camp for rookies, veterans and free agents to be held daily starting Thursday evening, July 3 and continues through Saturday, July 5 at the Grizzlies? training facility at Rhodes College. The first workout session will be held on Thursday from 5 p.m. until about 7 p.m. Then sessions will be held twice daily on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until about noon and 5 p.m. until about 7 p.m. Six Grizzlies veterans Earl Watson, Mike Batiste, Cezary Trybanski, Ryan Humphrey, Robert Archibald and Chris Owns as well as 2003 NBA Draft picks Troy Bell and Dahntay Jones are included among 12 players currently scheduled to participate during the summer camp. (see below for tentative summer camp roster and quick statistics)

This year?s camp features Grizzlies veterans with less than three years of NBA experience, NBA free agents, collegiate players who were not selected in the Draft and players who played overseas last season. At the conclusion of camp, some participants will be selected to represent the Grizzlies at the Long Beach Summer Pro-Am League in July.

?We are excited that Troy and Dahntay plan to participate. Plus, we really have a number of players with NBA experience from our team last season for our summer camp,? said Grizzlies Director of Player Personnel Tony Barone, Sr. ?We have gathered some talented players who want an opportunity to showcase their skills, and we will take a close look and see if another player or two steps forward who can help us this upcoming season.?

The Grizzlies will play in the Los Angeles Summer Pro-Am League, July 7-16 with the first game against the Canadian National Team on Monday, July 7. The nine-game league schedule continues with games against the Los Angeles Clippers, July 8; Golden State Warriors, July 10; Dallas Mavericks, July 11; Denver Nuggets, July 13; Toronto Raptors, July 15; Seattle SuperSonics, July 16; Houston Rockets, July 17 and Sonics, July 19.
