http://celtics.bostonherald.com/celtics/vi...rticleid=146295Supposedly we have interest in Richard Jefferson, Shawn Marion and Rashard Lewis, and we are having second thoughts about acquiring Iverson. Also, two big men (Wes Wilkinson from Nebraska and Akin Akingbala from Clemson) will be joining the summer league team. DA shows his praises to Allen Ray. He said he's never seen a guy as good as Ray go undrafted, and he's hoping he proves the league wrong.http://celtics.bostonherald.com/celtics/vi...rticleid=146230An article supporting the pursuit for AI.

Of course we are interested in Jefferson, Marion, Lewis, Garnett, Iverson, etc. etc. etc. But so is every team in the NBA. You can book that almost every team has at least called about at least 2 of these guys. So this means nothing. Marion isn't going anywhere, Lewis wants to stay, and Jefferson is ONLY leaving for a good big man (which we don't have). Obviously Iverson and Garnett are longshots.

And about AI - I have mixed feelings duo to development of the youth, but if the package isn't too pricey then I say go for it man. Pairing two top 15 players together who are friends and both have an incredible will to win is always great. But again, is it the right thing for this team with all these young guys needing touches and playing time? Not only would Iverson decrease our young wings' minutes/touches, but also decrease the touches of Big Al, Gomes, Delonte, Telfair, and Rondo. I'm not sure it's the right fit, but again, if he's not too expensive, why not.

I agree that we should go for it, and i know management feels the same way. I'm sure they are tired of being the team that no one cares about in Boston. The irrelevant team. If nothing else, revenues would sky rocket. It's always a risk when you try to put players of this magnitude together tho. Iverson will want the ball in the fourth, so will Paul. It will be tough. But if they can resolve that little conflict, we'd be a hell of a team.

Oh yea, no doubt about it. But my concern is not if AI/Pierce could co-exist, because I think at each of their stages in their careers and their will/want/need to win = success. My concern is giving up too much young talent in return, and then having it bite us in the ass 4 years down the road. I mean, what if Gerald becomes a star? What if Big Al becomes an All-Star caliber player? Then what, we have a 35 year old AI and a 32 year old Pierce. Sure, Delonte, Gomes, Telfair, Perk, Allen, and Rondo - not bad. But then what? It would just KILL me watching Gerald and/or Big Al playing in another uniform 4 years down the road and playing excellent basketball.

Gerald Green, as much as I love him, I think he's easier to replace with us. He is a wing, we already have Pierce, then you would add AI, then Tony Allen, then probably Allan Ray, plus Delonte falling back to the 2 and Gomes falling back to the 3 sometimes. That's enough at the wing. But even with that said, I think you have to wait and see with a talent like Gerald Green. Not only is he freakishly athletic and makes all the highlight films, but he has a great stroke from anywhere on the floor, he's quick, he runs, he's a real good kid with an always-happy mindset off the court, and most importantly - I hear WAAAY too much about him working as hard as anyone on the team. Put all that together, barring any major injuries, that usually produces a really good player in this league.

I would also rather give up Gerald than Al. And i'm almost positive that Danny feels the same way. I mean, how many real low post threat are there in this league? then think, how many scorers are on the wings in this league? Al's services are more important to us.
