Here are the quotes from the Miami Herald: ''Some guys let greatness come to them, and some guys talk themselves into thinking they're great,'' O'Neal said, clearly differentiating between his former and current shooting guards. ``Flash isn't really like that. He's going to get his, and he's going to keep everybody involved. That's the true definition of a great player, not taking 40 shots to get 20 points, not doing [unnecessary] highlight stuff.'' ''[Wade] is good at improving and keeping it simple,'' O'Neal said. ``When you come down and somebody's in your way, just kick it to the guy that's open. The other dude [Bryant], he likes to put the [ball] between his legs, he likes to take 40 shots to get 20 points. I'm never one that tried to hold his game back, it's just when I'm down in the post, throw the [darn] ball.'' Link: http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sport...ll/12862991.htm
Does Shaq not realize that Kobe past the ball to him more than anyone else he has every played with? Does he not realize that while he made Kobe better Kobe was doing the same for him? Does he not realize that Kobe saved the Lakers many an embarrassing loss after he (shaq) couldn't hit his free throws? Does he realize that the 3 rings on his fingers were brought with the help of "The other dude" and not Dwayne Wade? Talk about ungreatful. Or maybe he's just forgetful.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting trenchteam:</div><div class="quote_post">Wasn't it Shaq who said Kobe was the greatest player ever? I recall that very clearly... hmmmmm</div> I still can't believe that Snaq is STILL talking about Kobe. What is up with this dude?
I think everyone would agree that Shaq has to move on and get over getting traded...hes never going to be as good as he was in the last championship season with the lakers...he is past his prime. He should stfu and move on and stop taking cheap shots at Kobe.
This is a funny thread. Every one of you that has replied has Kobe as your favorite player. Ever heard the term "Preaching to the choir"? You guys need to go into the Miami forum and talk about this. Now that is how to get a conversation going. As it stands now, this thread is the equivilent of a circle jerk.

Two of the 3 games were OT games. All 3 were games in which Shaq didn't play (2003), the worst supporting cast of the Shaq/Kobe era. He averaged 43 ppg in those 3 games. </div> maybe someone can double check it...

Another example of pathetic sports journalism. Instead of talking about something meaningful about the Heat and what they need to do to win a title, this writer is beating a dead horse. I think all these articles are making Shaq look like an immature drama queen.
I'm not sure who's more to blame, the Miami Herald for making Shaq look like a cry baby drama queen, or the Shaq for saying all this crap. Shaq needs to move on. His complaining isn't getting him anywhere and sure as hell isn't going to win him a title. He needs to get over being traded and look towards the present and future. Beyond that, he needs to stop being such an ungrateful prick and realize that he'd never have won any of those titles had it not been for Kobe Bryant. Take Kobe out of the equation and the Lakers aren't nearly as good or nearly as dangerous as they were with him. So please Shaq, do us all a favor and quit whining. It's over. You're at a new team. You were traded a year ago. Quit your complaining and just play the damn game, you don't need to make Kobe-bashing comments every day of the week.
Simply: Kobe sucks, Shaq's a beast. Who's one of the 50 Greatest NBA players in history?: Shaq.Who led the league in field goal percentage last year?: Shaq. Who has more experience?: Shaq. Who was the 1999 MVP?: Shaq. Who was the finals MVP three years in a row?: Shaq. Whos a four-time all NBA first team selection?: Shaq. Whos a two-time all NBA second team selection?: Shaq. Whos a three-time all Nba third team selection?: Shaq. Whos a two-time all NBA defensive team selection?: Shaq. Whos been an allstar for 9 years in a row and last year?: Shaq. Whos led the league in field goal percentage 5 out of thirteen times?: Shaq. Whos a former member of a gold-winning Olympic team?: Shaq. Whos a former member of an World Chamapions team?: Shaq. So you can say what you want, but Shaq's still a LOT better than Kobe.
"I've had enough! I'm sick and tired of all of the Shaquille Oneal supporters that are Kobe Bryant haters. They should get over it. Shaq thought he was bigger than the Los Angeles Lakers, but he soon found out his ego was bigger than the reality of the situation. It seems like Shaq supporters continue to blame Kobe Bryant for Shaq's departure. It's time for Shaq and his supporters to quit crying and to move on." Umm if kobe were 7 foot and 900 pounds I think the NBA wouldnt exist!

So I guess you would put your money on Shaq to see who would make more free throws, if the game depended on it.... Who was out rebounded by a 6'9" center/Pforward in the 2004 Finals??? Shaq... Who wasn't able to come through in the clutch at the ECF last year??? Shaq... Who is still in denial about who helped him win 3 rings in his career??? Shaq... For the past three years, who was the one on the Lakers that didn't like getting into shape??? Shaq... Who is the MOST greedy SOB other than Sprewell??? Shaq... Who will probably get disappointed this year in the post season for not winning it all on the east coast??? Shaq.... Blahzey, blahzey, blahzey.... Who cares about all those stats that you're bringing up; it just goes to show you that Shaq is all about himself... He thinks he's the GM; and proved it by making remarks like, " I lobbied to have Williams and Walker come down to Miami, just like he loobied to have Payton and Malone come down to LA; but we all know how that worked out--Thanks alot Shaq!!!!! Just better hope you don't stub your bigtoe by play-off time....
Anybody else agree with me here that the more Shaq talks about Kobe, the more he looks like a scorned lover?? seriously, it's been 2 years.... move on Shaq.
