I am still confused with the FA signing rules. The Blazers offered Hibbert a max contract. He can't sign it for 10 days. Indiana has three days to match after those 10 days. At the same time multiple teams offered Batum a contract and he has to wait 10 days. So basically most FA players will be signig at the same time on July 11th? So my question is how many contracts can you offer in the next 10 days? Does the total amount have to stay within your cap space? And most importantly how does the date that Batum signs effect the Blazer's max offer to Hibbert? If he delays it just one day does it make a difference?
i believe you can offer to a bunch of guys and just tell them "first come first served" and i have also been wondering the same thing, i believe we need indiana to decline to match hibbert BEFORE the blazers decide to match batum
I think Portland will get a resolution to this sooner rather than later. The fact that Roy hasn't signed the offer sheet tells me he is waiting if not pleading to Indiana to up their ante. If they do in the next day or two. It's back to business as usual.
cant sign an offer sheet until the 10th i believe, this 10 day moratorium on signings and trades is like a negotiation window
