The Five-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced the re-signing of left-handed pitcher Bill Pulsipher.

Pulsipher joined the Patriots in July of last season and finished with a 5-1 record, a 3.18 ERA, and 50 strikeouts in 62.1 innings pitched in 11 games started.

Pulsipher has six seasons of Major League experience with the New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, and St. Louis Cardinals organizations.

Pulsipher had a 3.78 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 17 starts for the Mets during his rookie season in 1995.

"Bill was a huge part of our turnaround in the second half of last season. He instantly changed the clubhouse atmosphere and his performances on the mound gave us the veteran leadership we needed," said Patrick McVerry, President/ General Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.

Pulsipher has prior Atlantic League experience with the Long Island Ducks, where he was 9-5 with a 3.67 ERA, 85 strikeouts, and four complete games in 2004.

Pulsipher has a 22-11 record in 48 career Atlantic League games over parts of five seasons.

Pulsipher began the 2010 season with Yuma of the Golden League as a player/coach.
