This story was on the front page of the website http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=300208013 Wow. So the L*kers managed to beat the Spurs without their star SG and starting C? They're so brave and stalwart in the face of those insurmountable odds!
It is a little annoying. Similar to I think last week, or this weekend, Lebron switched hands for a layup, and it was one of the top stories on Yahoo. Lebron pulls off MJ move, watch the video. And it was weak as shit. Roy did it better two years ago, and it wasn't national news.
Whats even better is when you wait a whole hour of sportscenter for Blazer highlights and then they don't even show them, because they were lazy and filmed the show earlier.
If you can stop hoping for respect and recognition for this team at a national media level, then it makes it a whole lot easier to read national media outlets. The Lakers, the Lebrons, the Celtics, the Knicks; these are the teams with the big name stars and a fair amount of proximity to the most populous places in this country -- this is (ultimately) what sells and generates the most revenue.
NBA.com drives me even crazier. I swear, there hasn't been one time when I've gone on that site where I don't see a picture of LeBron or Kobe somewhere in the headlines. It is ridiculous
