    Brief Notes:

    * The Sonics are getting restless and impatient about their losing ways. The effort should be there tonight, especially from Ray Allen who has been cold from downtown lately.
    * Nick Collison faces off against the man he succeeded in the post at Kansas, Raef LeFrentz. It will be a test of Nick's ability to defend a power forward who can stretch the floor with his shooting.
    * The status of Flip Murray and Danny Fortson is in question for tonight, so Damien Wilkins and Mikki Moore might get a chance to show what they can do.
    * Unlike the Sonics, the Celtics are trying to stretch their rotation out as much as possible to get contributions from the bench.
    * Washington native Dan Dickau returns home, but he may not get the minutes the fans want him to.
    * Ricky Davis, the selfish egomaniac, is leading the Celtics with 5.6 assists per game, almost as much as Sonics point guard Luke Ridnour.

So apparently you don't understand jokes?

And I will refer you to the infamous "Attempted Triple-Double" incident, anyway, which I'm pretty sure was less than three years ago.

You saw a highlight on TV that showed him trying to shoot at his own basket, so now 2 years and 7 months later, you're still calling him selfish?

The incident took place with six seconds left in a 122-95 Cavs win in which Davis recorded 12 assists. Sure, it was stupid, but not so stupid that people should be totally ignoring everything he's done from that point on.

I hate to label this as a must win, almost as much as I hate to keep saying that before every game, but it sure would stop some of the bleeding.

    Some random observations:

No lame "tired" excuses as they are on the tail end of a back-to-back as well, having just play @ DET last night.

We may see some more of Reggie with Danny most likely sitting this one out, and us struggling so much on the glass last night - T28th in rebounding differential this season...not good.

Paul Pierce has been shooting really well thus far, and just noticed that we are dead last in the league at opponents FG %, while 26th in our own FG%

We need a breakout win - the offense looked pretty good last night with the exception of Ray's missed looks, but it would be nice to tie a game of solid D with a game of good offensive execution.

Actually, he would - he can be the most critical person of Seattle basketball I know at times (off the board anyway).

Anyway, 15 points up with 10 minutes to play - surely we won't pull a Toronto again? Celtics only have 77 points on the board too, this could be the breakout win we need to get out of this slump.

That's a huge win, given Boston have been a bogey team for us in recent times.

Starting Collison may mean losing Reggie at the end of the season (or before), but we seem a much better outfit with Nick in the five, and he responded again tonight with an outstanding display. Rashard continues to stand up, Ray's out of his mini-slump (as we all knew he would) and while Luke's shooting is still abysmal, you can't argue with 13 dimes and getting to the line seven times.

Huge win, we have to build on this.

</div>I hope he doesn't criticize them for things they did years ago, especially when the player has had a complete turnaround since.

On the game, you guys pwned us big time. Ray Allen was on fire all night and could not be stopped. I was also impressed with Nick, I think he was 8/8 from the field when I stopped watching. You guys looked better than you have all year, so hopefully this will be the game that turns it all around.

Well disappointingly this is the first game of the season I had to miss in its entirety (gotta go to class sometimes though).

Obviously I have nothing educational (no pun intended) to say on the game but stastically very impressed with Nick and Luke. How did everyone else look? Does anyone else feel that atleast when Flip returns Wilkins needs to be cut from the rotation and we need to make a general effort to give Vlade 25 mpg assuming he shows effort that I feel he has been showing (barring this game whihc I didnt see and dont know).

    easy there boys...

I think Casual was making a joking reference to how Davis is perceived. Did you hear Craig Ehlo last night talking about him last night? It is still a perception held by those who don't follow the whole game.

Getting traded to Boston and thrown to the bench was the best thing for Davis who has matured and rounded out his game in the Celtics uniform. I still don't like him as a player, but he is certainly not the same guy we saw in Cleveland.

Sorry Casual but it is kinda silly to call someone selfish, and then in the same breath point out that they are leading their team in assists.

I was actually joking when I made that comment. Sarcasm buddy. I knew he was joking the first time I read his preview. My comment was a subtle stab at 44thrilla for starting that whole argument. Sonics fans gotta stick together. [IMG]

Usually when people make jokes, number one - they have at least some comical value, and number two - they don't feel the need to backup their jokes with past moments in history. Those two elements were suspiciously missing, so forgive me for missing out on the hilarious comedy of Casual.
