I'm sure you guys have seen the Fact or Fiction threads lately. I decided to start one for the sonics. I'll start it off Fact or Fiction Robert Swift will start atleast one gome this year.
FACT! I don't think it's too far-fetched to say that James and/or Potapenko will be unavailable for one measly game. Won't hurt his development either. Fact or Fiction Vladimir Radmanovich will be a Sonic in January.
Fact, I think the sonics want to see what he can do before they trade him. If they are going to trade him it will be at the trade deadline. F/F Luke Ridnour will blossom as a starter
Fiction. Antonio Daniels will start most of the season because Nate will want his productive veterans on the floor. Fact or Faction? Ray Allen will complain if the Sonics start losing.
Fact. Everybody wants to win. Fact or Fiction : With the help of Collison and Fortson Sonics will rise from the worst rebounding team in league to the top half.
Fiction: Just b/c Fortson will dominate the glass doesn't mean that his influence will rub off on anybody else. It is easy to improve from last place, but that high of a jump is unrealistic. Fact or Fiction: Ronald Murray will command at least a mid level exception contract once this season is over.
Fact. Flip will just get better and is bound to want more. Fact or Fiction: Nick Collison will get through the year injury free.
Fact: Nick Collison is a tough guy who I think is capable of playing 82 games. Outside of his shoulder injuries he really doesn't have a history of getting injured. Fact or Fiction: Ray Allen will resign with Seattle following this season.
Fact. I am starting to lean towards the notion that something will be worked out and Ray will stay a Sonic. Fact or Fiction: Rashard Lewis will finally become a 20ppg scorer over the whole season, not just parts.
Fiction. Never gonna happen-- he's not good enough of a jump shooter and too soft in the post. Fact or Fiction: McMillan is one season away from being replaced.
Fiction. They'll stick with him so they don't have to buy out his contract. Although I think if Casey gets offered a job somewhere else, the Sonics might kick Nate out to keep Dwayne. Fact or fiction? Rashard Lewis deserves to start over Vladimir Radmanovic, no questions asked.
Fiction. Vlad has never gotten the opportunities that Rashard has had, so it's unfair IMO to automatically assume Rashard deserves the minutes because he has the better numbers. Fact or fiction? Damien Wilkins and/or Leon Smith will make our final roster.
Fact: Considering that Dave Young didn't get playing time during the summer league, I doubt that Seattle will use their final roster spot on him. Damien Wilkins may take the role that is left w/ Sesay's departure. Fact or Fiction: Ronald Murray will get the opportunity to show that he is the Sonics future starting point guard.
Fact, Nate is bound to play around with lineups, he can't help himself. Flip will start and show that he can play the point and can do it better than the two pg we have F/F Ray Allen will sign an extension before the next offseason.
Fact: Refer to my previous answer. Fact or fiction? We will finish above .500 and/or be in the mix for a playoff berth.
Fact. I think we'll be about bang on .500 with a far more balanced roster than last year (we actually have a power forward! Two, infact! w00t) Fact or fiction: Robert Swift will posterize someone within his first 5 games...
Fiction: Robert Swift is no where near ready to contribute, let alone posterize someone. Fact or Fiction: Danny Fortson will average a double double this season.
Fiction: He'll start out strong as we do (like every year), but will die off with the team and finish around about 9/9 in 20-25 minutes a game. Fact or fiction? Nick Collison will lead all rookies who aren't natual point guards in assists.
Fiction: Andre Iguodala will. I believe he led the Pac 10 in assists last year and I'm sure that he will get plenty of minutes with the Sixers depleted roster. Fact or Fiction: David Young has not been ruled out by Sonics management to make our opening day roster.
Fact: While not getting many Summer League minutes isn't a great sign, it by no means condemns him to not getting a contract. He'll have just as much opportunity as anyone to prove himself in training camp. Fact or fiction? Management will make another move to alter the roster before the season starts (whether that be via trade, delisting or free agency).
