Figured it was time to retire the Sacramento/Seattle thread since that story is over. The latest is that Chris Hansen is talking expansion with the NBA. This sounds more concrete than some of the previous rumors. Link: http://mynorthwest.com/27/2294457/Report-Hansen-talking-expansion-with-NBA I totally get that expansion might make sense to NBA owners given the size of the Seattle market and the big money Hansen/Balmer are willing to pay. But doesn't the talent level seem kind of diluted already? Best guess is that they add two more teams; although, it's been discussed plenty that they don't necessarily need an even number of teams.
Small chance that the Coyotes might relocate to seattle. NHL in Phoenix never made sense to me. Same with Florida. http://tracking.si.com/2013/06/17/coyotes-seattle-relocation/?sct=hp_t2_a11&eref=sihp
The league needs to shrink, not grow. Drop 3-4 teams so it's all NBA quality players. There are about 50 guys dragging the talent-level down.
Sounds like the Key Arena floor ice maker thingamabob was cemented over, so there'd be some work to get hockey up and running. Maybe they could just use roller skates?
