Definately....but a big signing for the Cubs. Between him, Lee (If he can stay healthy), and Aramis Ramirez, ther middle of the lineup is good now.

Cubs can bat their way into the playoffs now in the NL. All you need to make the playoffs in the NL is 1 great pitcher and a solid lineup. With Lee, Soriano, and AR you have a deadly 3-4-5.

Shut up, Grossman. We're in better position than your White Sox. Your manager thinks that he's an automatic success and can do w/e he wants b/c he won the World Series. Guess what: HE CAN'T

You overpaid for a 31 year old. Also, you haven't won anything since 1908, so STFU.
^^ wow..thats sexist and makes no sense. I have no problem making fun of differentp eople, as long it makes sense....
Baseball has become a disgrace with the money these players are receiving, they need a salary cap real bad

As opposed to a roster of 45 for Baseball and a roster of 65 for football. You have to spread the wealth in other sports whereas you can give 50% of your payroll to 1 player in the NBA and field a very competitive team (Spurs won it while 45% of their money went to 1 player... named Tim Duncan). You'd have to practically give nothing but minimum salaries to the rest of the team if you were to give an NFL player half of the salary cap yearly. I mean, yeah, Peyton Manning makes a lot, but he doesn't make 55 mil a year. No one could be successful if they paid 1 player that much. So a single NBA player is more important to his team's successful than a single NFL or MLB player is.
Football players play 16 games a year.Basketball players play 82 games a year.Baseball batters/fielders play 162 games a year.Baseball pitchers play 30 games a year.Subtract a few games for rest. And add some games for playoffs.Baseball hitters and basketball players deserve more cash cause they play more in front of audiences. Plus basketball is the most demanding with running up and down the court. Football has offensive and defensive units and play 30 minutes a game. There is little action in baseball besides pitching, fielding and 4 ABs.
