When I fuck up, I usually take a moment to think about it, and then admit it. It's the right thing to do. I overreacted in the sports section and blew something entirely out of proportion. So I think some apologies are owed to @AmirIcon, @blazerkor, and my gimp @SlyPokerDog.

I tried a few years ago to get away from the very thing I despised: toxicity on forums. I realized then that it was getting the better of me, and I was constantly involved in arguments and shitfests. So I stopped going to the OT altogether.

Unfortunately, I can't get away from it, no matter where I go. If I come here, I'm greatly outnumbered in people who don't share my beliefs. If I go to a gun forum where more of my beliefs may be shared, I can't talk about certain things, like sports, without being demonized for it.

Disagree with the President about one issue? Commie. Talk sports? You're supporting those who hate America.

If I come here and mention ANYTHING even remotely related to my support of President Trump, it eventually turns into a firestorm.

It's nobody's fault specifically, but it is the new norm, I guess.

I hate that. I hate how politicized this country has become, and in every fiber of society. Sports, for fuck's sake....America's past time. Apparently, even that is too much for some people I guess. And yes, it is BOTH sides doing it.

Then there's this year, which has been hard on everyone. Speaking for myself, I moved into a house that has been less than stellar, and just in the past 5 months I have come to deeply hate it, and I want nothing more than to move again. This has had a great impact on my overall mood, but I shouldn't take it out on any of you, so I apologize for that as well. That's a personal issue that does not involve this forum.

Anyways, I got sucked into my old ways there for a bit tonight. I apologize for that.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. Stay safe. :grouphug:

So how is life in Sweet Home? I love that A&W there. They still open? How did you do during the fires? I completely forgot you were up there.

The town itself is great. Love that A&W; eat there all the time. And Spoleto's Pizza is to die for.....best pizza I've ever had in my life.

The rest of it though.....absolute shit from a dog's ass, literally from the moment I've moved in. As you mentioned, the wildfires....they were bad.

That was just a couple of pictures that I took once the smoke moved in. I was under a Level 1 notice for a long time, but thankfully never went to level 2 or 3.

    Then I've dealt with insects:

    Snail.jpg

How the fuck you get a goddamn snail in this place is beyond me. And he wasn't there the day prior. I also just discovered a flea the other night, despite the fact that I have no pets, and no carpet.

And the flooding in this dump place (that happened at night, so no pictures I'm afraid). We had a foot of water in this section of the park a couple nights ago that surrounded my entire house and left a debris field. I also had to have $5,000 worth of roof work done on a house that I hate, which in turn caused thousands of dollars in cracked and sagging ceilings within, which I'm also having fixed. In five months, the power has gone out 5 or 6 times, and my water has been shut off 6 or 7 times because of broken water mains.

My Cadillac died while I was in Lebanon one day, but started up mysteriously once I paid to tow it 15 miles home, and I finally sold that piece of shit for $1,500. Now I drive my mother's old 2004 Escape. I'll be using this (hopefully) $2,000 stimulus to sell this Escape and put some money towards another car, which will have to be a pickup truck because there is no garbage or recycling service in this fucking park which means that you have to haul your garbage and recycling to the dump, or up to an always-filled dumpster in the park that is only open for certain times one day a week.

I'm debating whether or not I want to build an above-ground garden here, preferably with a firepit, but the yard is so awful, and the entire thing needs to be leveled out and graveled over. That's going to cost hundreds of dollars, and that's money I'd rather put towards something else right now. I also don't have an outdoor water faucet, which means I would need to pay a plumber hundreds to install one.....also money I'd rather spend elsewhere.

I absolutely hate this place with a passion, and I want nothing more than to move....preferably somewhere in Idaho near the Wyoming border. The only upside is that I've had a lot more spending money, which I didn't have living in Vancouver. But honestly, at this point I'd rather be tapped out living in an apartment there than living here. I have fucking had it with living West of the Cascades....hell, even moving to Eastern Oregon at this point would be preferable. If Sweet Home was in any other state, I'd want to live here for the rest of my life. The town is great.....the park I'm living in, the state, and the weather......not so much.

Oh man, I'm so sorry. Are there any disaster relief grants you can apply for? Seems like the flooding might be a continuation of the problems caused by the fire.

Nah, it wasn't that drastic, and the water was mostly gone by the morning hours. But it did leave a lot of mud and twigs all over the place. There's a creek nearby, but I don't think that was it.....just a lot of rain.

Make sure you check for mold, especially black mold under your trailer.

Water got under there, so you're probably right. Wonder how bad it might be....?

    Thanks for the heads up.

It seems like trailer parks are quite often built in floodplains; I would not be surprised if this was not the first time yours flooded, and thus might not be the last.

Somehow this reminds me of the old saying "Life's a bitch and then you die."
