Five-nil tonight continues Southend's recent run of form. They still have a lot to do to avoid the drop, but Southend are looking strong at the moment and notably stronger than the teams around them! To be fair, they have never really looked like a basket case despite an almost wilful failure to secure points throughout the first half of the season. Freddie Eastwood has not yet shown his full range of powers at this level, but there have been some signs recently that this could be about to change - if so, things could really get interesting.
