"John Danks reinforced general manager Ken Williams' faith in him Wednesday night when he pitched 7 2/3 innings of three-hit ball. But Williams' optimism in the White Sox was challenged again in the 3-2 loss to the Angels that typified the club's inconsistent ways. "We keep saying it's early," A.J. Pierzynski said. "Well, it's starting to get late. And we need to find it, find it fast and get on a run. We have the team to do it." The Sox didn't supply enough offense for Danks after Williams spoke to the team for 25 minutes before batting practice. "Yes, I am impatient," Williams said before the game. "Yes, I am frustrated. But yes, I do remain confident this team is one that can still challenge for the division championship and hopefully beyond. We have a lot of good pieces. We just need it to come together. And we'll be just fine." Nevertheless, the Sox failed to cut their 7 1/2-game deficit in the American League Central thanks to some shortcomings.
