<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">For the second consecutive day, the Timberwolves weren't a very chatty bunch. The few who did bother to speak to the media weren't interested in lamenting the doomsday scenario staring them right in the face, either. Still mathematically alive and clinging to a speck of hope, the Wolves found reason for optimism in an enthusiastic practice Tuesday. Apparently, when on the cusp of being eliminated from playoff contention, success is best measured in small doses. "We could have just thrown the towel in and come out and gone through the motions," guard Fred Hoiberg said. "But everybody was scratching and clawing at each other. We had a great scrimmage, getting up and down the floor. Hopefully, we can carry that over these last five games." The mood, of course, could change 180 degrees tonight when the Wolves play host to Golden State. The Wolves will officially join the ranks of the lottery-bound with a loss or if Memphis wins at Houston. Nobody had to be reminded of that fact, but interim coach Kevin McHale seemed pained by all the do-or-die questions. "You've played a million games that are do or die," McHale said. "It's do or die in the park when it's game point. If you don't score, you're off. There are six [other teams] and you don't play for an hour. It's hard to explain, but it's not that big of a deal. You just go out there and you play."</div> Source
