Sporting News names Brady sportsman of the year

QUOTE

ST. LOUIS - New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was named sportsman of the year Tuesday by Sporting News, his second such award in four seasons.
Details of the award were announced in the Dec. 24 issue on newsstands Wednesday, as well as on the Sporting News Web site. Brady was chosen by the magazine’s editorial staff.
"Tom Brady has given us one of the greatest seasons in NFL history," said John Rawlings, senior vice president and editorial director of Sporting News. "You can’t help but admire what he has accomplished — even if much of the NFL world has suddenly turned anti-Patriots."
Brady has led the Patriots to a 14-0 record and to within two games of becoming the first team since Miami in 1972 to finish the regular season undefeated. He’s first in the NFL in touchdown passes with 45 and needs four in the final two games to match Peyton Manning’s record set three years ago.
Brady also leads the league in passing yards (4,235), passing yards per attempt (8.42), passing yards per game (302.5), quarterback rating (119.7) and passes for first downs (210).
Brady also was the St. Louis-based publication’s choice in 2004. San Diego running back LaDainian Tomlinson won the award last season.
Other finalists for the 2007 award included Brett Favre, who earlier this month was named Sports Illustrated’s sportsman of the year; Manning; Colorado left fielder Matt Holliday; Florida forward Joakim Noah; and Arkansas running back Darren McFadden.

Boink a couple of phenomenally hot chicks & get a paper weight/door stop; Man! Tommy boy has got the life.

I read TSN religiously until the Internet made magazines mostly worthless. The content in TSN was terrific, of course, but by the time I got my copy in the mail, the news was much older than what I found on the WWW.
I must have subscribed for the better part of 35 years, too. Read the mag from cover to cover, every word.

I still read TSN cover to cover. I've gotten it for close to a dozen yrs. Its way better than SI.
