I read this interview in my latest issue yesterday, but I'm glad it's up on the website as well.

QUOTE

guard Gilbert Arenas isn't the shy, retiring sort. And with his knee healed from last season's injury, he is making noise on the court again -- and with a blog on the NBA website. SN caught up with him recently and, not surprisingly, Arenas had plenty to say.
SN: You called last season "The Takeover" and have dubbed the 2007-08 campaign "The Takeover Reloaded." Please explain.

Arenas: Every great movie, there's always an ending. My season didn't end. Everybody knows there's a Part 2 coming.
SN: I don't know if it's too late, but considering the Wizards haven't exactly torn it up in the playoffs, what do you think of "The Makeover"?
Arenas: I'll think about it. No way. It shouldn't be "The Makeover."
SN: What -- too negative?
Arenas: No, man. It's like Spider-Man. You've got to call the next one Spider-Man 2. Die Hard, Die Hard: With a Vengeance. You've got to have the word takeover in it.
SN: The Celtics are getting ready to take over the Atlantic Division, aren't they?
Arenas: The way I look at it, it's really going to take them a while to gain momentum. I don't care who you are, when you have a new team like that, it's not going to be like you've played together for years. We get them really early (Nov. 2 in Boston, the second game of the season), so I think we'll have the advantage in that one.
SN: But can your team hang with the C's all season? Because that's what really matters.
Arenas: I don't know, man. We'll have to find out. There's no question about it: They have three super-icons on one team, and that's going to be hard to beat. Just because of who they are, they're going to get wins.
SN: What's your take on the Wizards' first-round pick, Nick Young?
Arenas: I don't know how we got him, but I'm glad we got him. The kid can flat-out score the ball. We need him coming in with our second unit. He can give us a quick 15.
SN: Yeah, but does he pay rent on time?
Arenas: Oh, yeah, I'm renting one of my houses to Nick and (second-round pick) Dominic McGuire. I call them Chuck and Larry.
SN: That makes perfect sense because, uh ...
Arenas: Goofballs, man. Especially Nick. He fits right in with us.
SN: Hey, you're a cover boy -- that NBA Live 08 gig has got to be pretty cool.
Arenas: Aw, man, it's awesome. I love it. I am very humbled that they picked me. It's so awesome.
SN: Who's the best gamer in the league?
Arenas: In the league? So many guys play, I have no idea. I am a Halo fanatic. Last summer, Adam Morrison was better than me. But I am going to come back strong. I am going to dominate Adam Morrison.
SN: Some people still might not be aware that you have the greatest blog in the history of the world. I read on there that you hung out with Vince Young at some commercial shoot. Good guy?
Arenas: We hit it off great. He was a great guy. I don't consider myself a superstar. I was so excited, like, "Man, I hope I can get an autograph." That's what I was thinking. Well, he was thinking the same thing. We were laughing a lot about that. We had a scene where we had to come face to face and I was like, "Oh, man, that's Vince Young." And he was like, "Oh, man, that's Agent Zero." We talked a lot about football. He was cool.

http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=278694

LOL at the Chuck and Larry reference.

Same old Gilbert, it's always entertaining reading his interviews. Only thing I'm getting worried about are his comments about the Celtics, they could come back to bite us.
