"Wolves owner Glen Taylor said Wednesday night that the list of potential replacements has been trimmed from more than 20 to about 10. All but two of those have been interviewed. The other two are still involved in the chase for the NBA title. "We're as far as we can be at this time," Taylor said. "Every person we could have had an interview with we have. ... The only two we are, for sure, going to interview yet -- and there may be a third -- we have not been given permission in one case. In the other we were just given permission." That second candidate, Taylor acknowledged, is San Antonio assistant P.J. Carlesimo. But Taylor said the Wolves could wait until the Spurs' playoff run is over to talk with the former NBA head coach." Minneapolis Star Tribune

Even if the Twolves hire Paul Silas or Eric Musselman instead of P.J. Carlesimo, I'd imagine Spree would be out anyway because he cares more about money than winning a ring. I mean that's just ridiculous when a player of his age, who has only a few more years left to contribute to a team anyway, asks for a ridiculous amount of money, and can't see the bigger picture. This is a guy who's gotten the max amount of compensation and has a chance in a lifetime to win a championship and he was worried about money. He was dreadful this year and it's hard to believe that the team was a contender not too long ago.

Is that now or for his entire basketball career? cause believe it or not Sprewell use to have heart. But I guess after 12 years in the league things become a little routine. And the passion for the game can burnt out. And thats when it becomes all about the pay check. Everybody cant have passion for the game for 18 years like Reggie did. Even the greatest of all-time, MJ admit in 93 that the passion for him started to fade a bit. And that was one of many reasons why he stepped away for a while. But a guy like Spree, this late in his career cant do such...if he steps away now then there is no coming back in his cards....so he figures that he might as well suck up the fattest pay check as possible before he is completely done...

I hope you're being sarcastic... Can anyone justify his actions? Spreewell, Webber, Howard, Owens... not a one of them had any heart. They were all selfish from day 1. It's no wonder non of them ammounted to anything. Nothing will make me happier then to see these best of friends retired without a ring

Actually, his first 2 seasons Sprewell was on the right track-after that he was an egotist a jerk and the most mercenary sneaker pimp to ever tank games just to get coaches fired. [IMG]
