Beautiful new. Great to know he will be staying. I hope he just stays the rest of his career, he can go big places with us.
Its great to see my boy stay in Minnesota where hopefully he will be long term. Its sad to see him getting older, but i know he's still got some juice left in those knees.. he'll be flyin to the rack for seasons to come..
This is great news and he wants to finish his career as a Timberwolves which is a even better news. Now we just have to resign our key players.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Timberwolves guard Latrell Sprewell not only decided to stick around for next season -- for a cool $14.625 million -- but he might stay even longer, under a contract extension being negotiated with the team. Sprewell's agent, Robert Gist, said Thursday that he has been talking with the Wolves for the past week about a three-year extension that could keep his client in Minnesota through the 2007-08 season. "Kevin [McHale, Wolves vice president of basketball operations] and I, we're optimistic about that," Gist said. "Kevin and Latrell would both like to see Latrell retire as a Timberwolf. We're working on that and, in perhaps a week, Kevin and I and [owner] Glen Taylor should have something." Gist would not discuss salary figures. "In terms of numbers, that's not a real issue," the agent said. "We think we can come up with a deal that makes sense, that reflects Latrell's value to the team and [in the league]." "Spree's influence on this team has been everything I expected and more," Garnett said during the playoffs. "He's not only been an inspirational leader and motivator, he leads by example. I see a lot of similarities in the two of us."</div> Link
