<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The reunion game long ago became old hat both for the Warriors and for the returning player. So it was Friday night at the Arena in Oakland. Latrell Sprewell was even able to predict the crowd reaction to his pregame introduction.

"Mixed,'' he said in the visiting locker room, before putting on the uniform of the Minnesota Timberwolves. "Some boos, some cheers. I've still got a lot of supporters here.''

An hour or so later, the sellout crowd -- on Sprewell's second visit as a member of the Timberwolves and sixth when his trips as a Knick are included -- unleashed a blend of cheers and boos, even before the intros began. Once again, a handful of old No. 15 jerseys were sprinkled throughout the Arena, but there were far more of "The City'' throwbacks. Warrior crowds have been more passionate this season giving it to Gilbert Arenas, who, after all, was jettisoned only a year ago.

Sprewell went on to score 11 points in Minnesota's 92-74 win over the Warriors -- and there was no repeat of the profane exchange with courtside spectators that punctuated his first return here in 1999-2000, or a similar incident earlier this season on his return to New York. Been there, done that, got fined, time to move on.
