With both Cassell and Kings point guard Mike Bibby fouled out of the game, Sprewell stepped up after a period of quiet and made a jumper in the final minute that put the Wolves ahead to stay. Sprewell, who started the game by making only three of his first 13 shots, finished 9-for-22 for 25 points. He also ended up with the ball in his hand on the game's final play, after Trenton Hassell harassed Stojakovic into a partially blocked shot on the Kings' last-gasp chance to match the Wolves' Game 2 miracle. The game was tied with 4:23 remaining in the third when Wolves coach Flip Saunders rested Cassell and brought on Fred Hoiberg. Only seconds later, Garnett collected his fourth foul when he needlessly blocked Bibby 27 feet from the basket. Saunders replaced Garnett with Gary Trent. And, suddenly, Sprewell burst forth, becoming the only one of the three to lead the Wolves through the 19-7 surge that ended the third quarter and started the fourth and also included important contributions from the team's Little Three (Hassell, Hoiberg and Ervin Johnson).</div> Link
Funny thing is that so far every Minnesota game I've watched in the playoffs so far he's screwed up big time. He's missed BOTH freethrows in the clutch several times, and yesterday turned it over & committed dumb fouls with a minute to go..
But without Spree in that game yesterday with Cassell and Garnett in foul trouble, the Wolves lose by 10+. Sprewell saved us in a way, and I'm just glad he showed up yesterday when we needed him most.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Spree:</div><div class="quote_post">and what dumb fouls are you referring to?</div> I think he's talking about the one where Spree fouled Peja as he was shooting a three. However it was pretty clear in the replay that Spree tried to avoid the contact but just couldn't manage to. However, I think Spree was very instrumental in tuesdays win. I wouldn't think that Hassell and Hoiberg would've had such good third quarters if not Sprewell was the glue to hold it together with KG and Sam on the bench. Big up to Spree!
Spree was a net plus for the T'Wolves in Games 2 & 3. Without his defense of Bibby, the T'Wolves don't win either game. PERIOD. Yes, he fouled Peja on that 3 late in the game but if he & Trenton don't go on that run when KG & Sam were resting, there wouldn't be an OT to game 3. The Kings win it in regulation.
