<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Stephen Jackson got a first hand lesson in how bad NBA teams don't always get the calls.

Tim Duncan had 20 of the Spurs season-high 68 first-half points and finished with 25 to lead San Antonio to a 114-75 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.

The game marked the return of Jackson, San Antonio's starting shooting guard last season when the Spurs won the championship.

Jackson made the first basket, giving Atlanta its only lead of the game, 2-0, and then missed his next five. Jackson finished 2-for-9 for eight points, becoming visibly upset in the first quarter when an apparent foul caused a cut to his right hand but nothing was called.

"It was sliced up all game," Jackson said of his hand. "I was wondering where the foul was."

Jackson turned down a three-year contract to stay with the Spurs and later signed a one-year deal with Atlanta for less money.

He received hugs from his former teammates and coaches after the game.

"I definitely miss (those) guys and miss San Antonio," said Jackson, who received his championship ring in a pregame ceremony. "I was just trying to be focused on the game; my shots just weren't falling."

Manu Ginobili had 20 points on 9-for-10 shooting with five rebounds and five assists, and Tony Parker had 17 points and six assists as the Spurs bounced back from a 95-92 defeat the previous night at Dallas.

Game Notes: Jackson said of his ring: "I'm going to enjoy it, no matter what the outcome." ... San Antonio was 8-of-15 (53 percent) from the 3-point line ... Atlanta split the season series with San Antonio in 2002-03.

If the Hawks didn't play on opening night then why didn't Jackson just get his ring then?

You only get your ring when you go back to S.A and play @ the SBC center...The same happened with Speedy Claxton. He got his ring last week. While Steve Smith won't get his til the Hornets visit in january.
