<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Turkoglu hit a 3-pointer with two-tenths of a second remaining to force overtime, and then he made two baskets in the extra period to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 89-88 victory over Indiana on Saturday night.

Down 81-78 with 3.9 seconds remaining in regulation, the Spurs took the ball out just past halfcourt. Turkoglu inbounded to Tim Duncan, who touch-passed the ball back.

Turkoglu took one dribble, gave Indiana's Jamaal Tinsley a head fake and then launched the high-arcing 3-pointer that sent the game to overtime

Turkoglu, who finished with 15 points, missed a 3-pointer with 3.9 seconds left in overtime and a long rebound came out to the Pacers' Ron Artest.

Artest, who scored 18 of his 21 points in the second half, started to take the ball upcourt, but then tried to call a timeout as time expired.

Indiana coach Rick Carlisle stormed onto the court to argue that some time was still on the clock. When the officials stuck to their call, Carlisle gave them a dismissive wave as he walked off.

Later both Carlisle and Artest agreed that the referees made the right call.

"I didn't get the timeout," Artest conceded. "I juggled the ball just a little bit and then that was it."

The loss snapped Indiana's seven-game winning streak. The Pacers, leaders in the Central Division, had also won four straight on the road.

Boy did Artest mess up on that final play. They showed signs of a young team not knowing what to do in a key situation.

But it was a great game. The top two defenses in the league, clashing together. Duncan got the better of Jermaine O'Neal, but Artest was abusing Bruce Bowen.

The game, win or lose, is good for both teams. Indiana showed that they can put up a fight and they can win against the Spurs. Turkoglu made our miracle shot - Artest forgot to take theirs. And the Spurs proved they could beat Indiana, even without Ginobili.

Spurs lucked out big time. When Artest got the ball I thought Reggie would perform his heroics again....then he messed it up.

Great play to tie the game at the end of regulation. I'd say lucky.

Lokk you got to teams going head to head, Ay the end of the day the best teams wins, And if it wasnt for hedp's heroics they would have lost, That just shows that each player can step up on the spurs bench, Artest just screwed up, Hes been in the league long enough to know, You dont forget to call a timout, You just dont, Its common sense, Spurs won and thats that!

San Antonio were defintely lucky to win that one, but a win is a win and that's what matters. Manu Ginolbili was missed, but the Spurs proved they could beat a good team without him. Tim Duncan had 30 points and 15 rebounds.
