Are we still a threat..?..For the title..?..I been surfing though the kings..'Sota..And Lakers board..And it seems everyone has ALREADY counted us out....I am not saying i dont think we can make the finals..I betting on us going all the way and possibly winning again..But it seems that other teams...Think we dont have what it takes...Its true what they say..We have lost a few key ingredients..But then again we have picked up some key ingredients...Basically i just want to know what the SPURS "REAL" fans think..?

As long as Tim Duncan is still in the Spurs line-up S.A are still and will always be contenders. People don't realise how damn good Timmy is not only in the season but come playoff time. He has destroyed teams with superstars on, he has never had plenty of scorers on his team but he makes his team-mates better. He has that killer instinct I don't think a guy like Kevin Garnett has, is by far the best post player in the NBA. A great defender who can find the open man so well. Spurs will again be title contenders purely because of Duncan and the great defense.

I wouldn't listen to what Laker fans say If I were you, they talk the same crap every year. They still consider themselves the best team in the NBA and always will, hell they still thought they were better than the Spurs last year even when Duncan and co made them cry in game 6 of the conference semi-finals.

With all that said, the Lakers are one hell of a team and when they get heathly they will be even more dangerous. Malone means so much to that ball club.

Kings are very talented, so damn deep, love watching those guys play basketball. They have fun doing it as well. Kings only real fault is on the defensive end but you could say the same about the Lakers.

Yea...Your statement is true..I forgot about that...Yea...Tim is a FORCE in the post...THEE..most DOMINANT..Player in the league..Forget shaq..He isnt dominant...He is just weighty..Just bowls people over with his fat...Tim on the other hand..Is dominant in the fact that...He cant really be stopped on the blocks when his game is on..He can face up and hit that 15 footer which will draw you out..He is a great offensive rebounder..With timing and extrodinary co-ordination for a guy his size..His footwork is unmatched...His Fundemenatals are unmatched...His work ethic is and has always been very positive...He is a BEAST on the boards..A great defender..And a scary shot blocker..Now THAT is DOMINATION....

    PEACE!

Making generalizations as if he's talking about products out of an assembly line. I love it!

Yeah I can imagine. A lot of the posts in the Laker forum are quite Hollywoodesque in terms of optimism.

It's funny how you can accuse someone of being a bandwagoner from Seattle, when you don't even have a location stating you are indeed from San Antonio. I'm from the Bay Area, (Hayward, CA) I'm not from Los Angeles, so does that make me a bandwagoner too? [IMG]

Just because you are from another city or state doesn't automatically make you a bandwagoner if you root for another team. Have an open mind

Back on topic, I think the Spurs are still contenders. Once TD comes back, they are still a very good team and will present a lot of problems come playoff time. They may have the best team defense of all of the Western Powers. TD has already proven that he is a leader and can lead this team to the promise land. Manu and Parker will have to come up HUGE once again for them to have a shot at another title.

Yes i very much agree..Except this time..We have i think a better bench..Hedo is there and we all know what he can do...Also..Devin Brown has been big for us in a lot of games this season..He has come off the bench and got guys fired up when EVERYONE else is cold..And this is including T.D..Charlie Ward is also another contirbutor as his Jason Hart AND garcia when he is not injured..All in all i thin we have a better...younger...But more experienced team..Not to mention the leagues best player..And the leagues second best defender!

Remember that the other Western Powers have also made huge upgrades to their team. Lakers added two HOFers and Minnesota added a great supporting cast of KG. This should be an awesome postseason.

Just so you know that your message has been received, I'm a Lakers fan because the Lakers were the first team I've ever seen live.

True..BUT...I personally dont believe that the wolves are getting out of the first round..I just can't see them winning a seven game series...Due to the fact..That..They are NOT proven..They haven't been out of the first round in what seven years?..(Correct me id im wrong)..And just because they have added spree and cassy doesn't mean they ARE going to get out..I mean..What happens if the first game comes to a tie with a few seconds to go and who's going to take the shot..Its going to go to the leader KG..And we seen how he starts foaming at the mouth..At the sound of "crunch time"....We have not sen any signs this season that he is any different..Yea he has made one game winning shot but that was at the begining of the season..And we also seen him miss one but luckily spreewas tere to tip it in..You saw how nervous he was to take that...I dont think he is going to be the go to guy in the play-offs either spree or sam..So he can't really say HE led them past...This is one thing that makes me question how good KG REALLY is..Yea he is great all around...But it's like he diminishes in the fourth quarter..Just my 2 cents!

Well first, Sam Cassell is the best clutch player on that team so it's understandable for KG to take a step back offensively in the waning moments of a close game (although he has hit both a walk-off gamewinner and two 3's in 10 seconds to send the Kings game to OT, where Minnesota won). Also, just because the Wolves haven't gotten out of the 1st round in the past doesn't mean they're going to lose to Denver and Memphis.
