Well I hope a team picks him up that he can play and compete in the Dunk contest. The NBA needs him as far as thats concerned.

I agree with you Jumpman, Lakers should give him a look.
I honestly don't understand what you see in him shape. I remember you were talking about him a lot before the 2006 draft. The guy is athletic, and can dunk the ball, but I don't see what else he can provide. He's already been waived by 2 teams, and there may be a reason for that.

His main drawback is his jumpshot, but shooting mechanics are something a player can develop as his career progresses. I realize he's been waived twice, but look at the situations of those two teams. The Pacers entire roster was practically made up of forwards when they originally drafted James White. He never had a chance to develop there. In San Antonio, their not focused on winning titles and any young talent they feel like developing is stashed overseas. White is playing behind two veterans on a Championship team, and with the Spurs close to locking up Udoka (another more experienced veteran with a better jumper), White easily the odd man out. With the Lakers he'd have a chance to play minutes at PG/ SG/ SF. The Lakers only athletic players are Kobe and Mo Evans. In LA James White could compete for minutes as 3rd string SF, and also for Sasha's minutes. PJax is the perfect coach for him because he's made a career out of getting the most out of rejected talent.
Can he handle the ball well enough to play the point Shape? Or is he even fast enough to keep up the points guards?
<div class="quote_poster">Jumpman Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Can he handle the ball well enough to play the point Shape? He'd be fine in the Lakers offense though, since his role would be playing off the ball while Walton, Farmar or Crittenton run the offense. Yes he's fast enough to defend other point guards, and he can make up for mistakes because of his length and athleticism. With the proper coaching he'd be a tenacious defender. He just needs to learn how to move his feet on defense and how to force the player into the middle of your defense.
