Why? I'm sure a lot of teams would want him he is a pretty decent player.

You can't play for Pop unless you

    A-play some kind of defense
    B-pass the ball
    C-work hard in practise

He did none of the above

Surprising, but he will be on another squad before the seasons over. I remember when he came out of kentucky in 97, it was rumored that Rick Pitino didnt really wont the Celtics to draft him, which was kinda shocking at the time because of their Wildcat history. But I think that was just the 1st white flag that let everybody know that he wasnt going to be as good as everybody expected. But the guy can drop buckets he average almost 20ppg in Chi-town. But you right allnet he doesnt want to do all the things that make you a good all-around ball player. But with that being said he will be on another squad before the seasons over.

Things just go from bad to worse for this guy, but I'd imagine he'll end up on another team soon enough. Does this mean the Spurs will sign someone else or activivate someone?

Mercer is a proven scorer, but not the greatest defender. I wonder where he will end up. A scrubby team could definitely use him (Hawks, Raptors, Heat?)

My guess is he will sign for a playoff team. If he is smart thats exactly what will happen.

I believe if he is gonna sign with a playoff team, it's New Jersey. He can be a very good backup for Kerry and RichJeff?

I was shocked when I heard this...it seemed like he could fit as instant offense off the bench...but, yeh, he hardly passed and played no defense, which would explain his limited minutues and tenure in San Antonio...
